Really living two lives, Hannah Montana
Little late to getting this posted, but got my first (first author) publication two months ago and was in Laos getting to run the sickest rapids in the world. Pretty sick times. Thanks to my research team, they’re the best.
Madagascar is a spectacular place. The whitewater is unreal. Huge slides, big water stouts, and a style unlike anything I’ve paddled before. Everything on the river is huge… especially the spiders. The people are warm and kind, happy to help make a fire or carry a boat around a portage. It’s the type of trip you dream of, and I feel lucky to have spent a few weeks on this island. Its rivers, landscapes, and people all blew me away. Just gotta make sure to bring a machete on the Manampatrana next time.

The Chalipuzha is ideal kayaking. Big slides, continuous whitewater, water quality that makes your eyes burn, and fried bananas ready at shops nearby, shits a little too sick.
