Within our cultural inheritance exist furtive heirlooms of an ancient worldview—at once an ephemeral mystery and a gravity-like core truth guiding our movements, shaping our intuitions, prophesying our possibilities. The daily ontological practices of how we wonder, what we remember, and why we love all contain the invisible scaffolding of an intrinsic meaning-making. These ladders climb through time, leading us toward windows & doorways that open onto the powers we hold, the reverberations of messages that echo through our bones—the norths that our bodies, sometimes despite every other part of ourselves, always know & that are always calling us home. At the heart of this ecstatic force is the word. Our word—our palabra—is our initiation into the mystic. When spoken, it exists outside the body as a breath-winged creation, an audible illumination, a radiant child of sound & light. Once shared, once witnessed, it enters a dimension untethered to time: the forever of memory. When we give our word, mysticism becomes magic—it anticipates a futurity in which that word is unbendable, unbreakable, impeccable. & since we are our word, we too must be impeccable.
