The past 2 or 3 months I have been making an effort to be more attentive to self care. This includes finally being proactive in my bodies recovery from training.
Within these videos, Iām attempting to use strength exercises, plyometrics and some mobility to properly condition my joints (specifically my tendons and ligaments) for fighting, specifically grappling.
I have had joint problems (mainly my elbows and only recently wrists) ever since I started grappling years ago. A limitation that has severely hindered my ability to consistently grapple.
I intend to compete in a few jiu jitsu matches or maybe even eventually an mma fight sometime down the road. To push myself past my breaking point and be able to test my abilities against another competitor has been something I have wanted for a very very long timeā¦. and I think about it almost every day nowā¦ā¦ But it is something that my joints have not allowed.
Therefore finally being proactive with my self care aka my joint conditioning/recovery will be extremely important in reaching this goal. I WILL REACH THIS GOAL.
I like to use tape in many of my drills to help the client maintain their boxing stance. By keeping the taped line in between their legs at all times, it helps minimize their balance from being compromised and helps them come back with fluid punches, due to their feet positioning.
Within this tape drill we are looking to constantly change angles in order to mimic counter pivots on your opponent.
If you want to work with me, whether that be boxing or traditional personal training, come down to the gym and Iāll help you achieve your goals!

In boxing footwork is everything. Fast and highly coordinated feet allows you to maintain range, create angles for counters, and engage/disengage your opponent on your terms. One of the best ways to make someone faster and more coordinated (other than jump rope) is agility ladder drills. @max_fitness38

Life is about being uncomfortable and using this struggle/hard experience to sharpen the mind or body. Whether you seek out this level of uncomfort or you (for better or worse) naturally find yourself within a hard or uncomfortable situation ā¦ā¦.. each of these experiences are what allows our human potential to grow. As this potential grows bigger, so does our ability to create some sort of meaning or difference in the world. All of this constructs the very identity of your amazing personhoodā¦. all thanks to your struggle. Basically, what Iām trying to say isā¦.. youāre not you without struggle. Embrace it. Embrace yourself. Love yourself.

15 reps of weighted squats superset into a sled push driving through with those already tired legsā¦..as fast as humanly possible.
I like to use a lot of functional movements (such as a sled push) as they really train a persons power and speed depending on how you do it.
A side effect of power and speed is often hard cardiovascular intensive exercises that make you breathe heavy and drip sweat. THIS IS THE KEY TO FAT LOSS WORKOUTS. I would not have it any other way, as Keilany knows very well.
