The Singing River, a collaboration with @reinaldodavidcorrea has moved into an exciting new phase. After adapting the design for a relocated site in Bradenton, FL, we’re now well into fabrication.
These new visualizations by @pixelhead.studio highlight how the project has evolved to shape for its new context. Stay tuned for a behind-the-scenes look at thousands of component parts coming together with integrated lighting and wind-activated sound elements.
For now, enjoy these new views of what’s to come in just a few months! #p1_SingingRiver
BIG NEWS! Here’s a first look at SkyLume—our new 60’ kinetic sculpture with thousands of wind-driven elements and responsive lighting. More updates and images coming soon. #p1_skylume

Sneak peek from our final night of on-site dynamic lighting tests for SkyLume with Andrew from @happeninteractive
As day turns to night, the project continues to reveal new layers of engagement. Most of the evening, the lighting remains calm and atmospheric, but every half hour the sculpture comes alive with custom programmed shows full of energy and movement.
Dozens of unique animations were developed to connect back to the project’s concepts and create a different experience with each visit, all working alongside the ever-changing wind-driven kinetic elements.

Wrapping up our time here on SkyLume with the perforated metallic skin install. This layer brings contrast, texture, and another level of depth to the piece. The perforations help connect with the concept while also setting up the lighting effects.
By day, it acts as a clean visual backdrop. By night, it starts to catch and reflect light in a more subtle, atmospheric way. The full lighting reveal is coming soon!

Major progress yesterday!
~700 kinetic assemblies built from 3,000 unique fins.
A wind-driven skin that shifts constantly, from slow movement to full motion.
Next up: reflective metallic backer + dynamic lighting.

Incredible first day of install for SkyLume (#p1_skylume). We got way more done than expected… the full structural frame is up and a lot of site work behind us already.
Huge credit to our crew and to @ignitionarts for supporting fabrication with structural welding and paint, and for handling rigging on site. Everything moved smooth.
More updates soon!

skyLume install starts Monday. Here’s a quick look at the past year of fabrication. Follow our stories for daily install updates.
Set to be the tallest public artwork in the state!

Assembly is in full swing on the wind-driven spinners for skyLume. 700+ assemblies. 3,000+ fins. Every one unique to build the larger composition.
Looking forward to seeing this one come alive in motion!

First full-scale mock-up of SkyLume! #p1_skylume
~22’ tall shown here (only about 1/3 of the full sculpture). More above, and a 20’+ column below.
We’re out of height in the studio… so the last image shows 3D scanning used to verify fit above the roof line before final assembly on-site.
