@_namastrange & @pletnevdj debut on Earth Dog Records with the transatlantic tek of Desire Machine. Four supple rollers featuring a remix from label co-founder @jek.media Based separately in San Francisco and Barcelona, Namastrange and Pletnev collaborate sans studio to instead combine ideas virtually from afar. It’s a remarkable union in this respect; a fully-formed sound where heritage, influence and realities all collide to form an inimitable club-ready racket with Namastrange’s vocals sprinkled into the mix. Sonically, this finds solace with Jek and djfix’s burgeoning tek stable of Earth Dog. Desire Machine zones in from the parallel; its pulsating bassline grounding the evolving rhythm amidst Namastrange’s hypnotic mantra. Jek’s refix tramlines the shuffling groove to a psy-chotic break, with added dub delirium and prog attitude. Ego Collapse on the flip finds minimal solitude, gliding a dastard squelch with a sass’d up step. on this day 15 yrs today i was nearly killed in a car accident and it changed every part of my self concept, beyond a good / bad binary. can't conceive of myself and my relationship to life and the people around me without having undergone this. my capacity to stay present to tremendous amounts of grief and rage, my inclination towards expression and connection, my constraints for who and what gets my energy are molded by that day and its sequelae at every moment. it's not that i'm glad that it happened - it just did, and it was as horrifying as it sounds - but in so many ways it made me who i am, and i feel very lucky that on most days i'm glad i am who i am.

Across three tracks, the combined minds of San Francisco’s @_namastrange and Amsterdam’s @brrrzze take us on a blissful journey of swirling progressive melodies, celestial pads and tribal percussion, with subtle nods to the vast ocean that separates them. While the A-side takes a softer, more patient approach with gently building momentum, the B-side turns up the energy with a clear nod to golden-era San Francisco progressive. Closing out the release, Bliss Inc. delivers a psy-tinged reinterpretation of Meridian Space, a dark, brooding acid workout that pulls the original into deeper, murkier waters.
