NAAWAKWE + INNER VOICE OUT LOUD
Throwback to my time at @youbeill.official ‘s battle event “Inner Voice Out Loud” in Toronto, only made it to top 16, but this night truly changed my perspective on my ability both as a dancer and battler.
Im truly grateful for everyone involved in this event and for those who gave me love afterwards.
Never hold yourself back, it serves no one to keep that creative voice silent.
Giving shape to the spirits of nature.
Been waiting on releasing these for awhile, all figures are one of a kind and utilize crystals and aluminum wire.
The design for each piece is centred around the character I saw within the crystals, with some providing the ability to remove the crystal so you can take your crystalline companion wherever you go.

I miss what could’ve been
What would I have seen if I let the sonder in
So wrapped up in my world, I forgot that the cold had already been given permission to begin
I left my flame, preferring the comfort of all of yours

Ashamedly stood beside my outdated patterns
Parts of me battle a top the ladder
I find beauty in the songs from the wind that I gather
I splatter
spread so thin
Yet, I have just enough within me to grin
Because I still feel that yearning that pushes me to win
I miss you
I miss the child that saw it all with a hearty attitude
I miss the strength I felt as I led with verisimilitude
Have I missed it?
A chance to return to that world of plenitude?

I can see that the halves of me can be joined
So long as I allow myself to laugh
Bare foot in the cold
Whose command did I behold?
Perhaps the one who said I should do this before I’m too old

I love dance yall. It’s a gift from beyond that we can use our body to create this artistic expression of the soul. That, just like in 1973, we can convert complex emotions into movement that help us overcome any feeling filling our minds.

Also fun fact, dance is literally what made my parents cross paths (my dad was filming the first video!) and that’s just kinda magical in my opinion.
