I met Monica through @joegturpin during a season when they were working on the final parts of both of their thesis exhibitions. I must have spent less than 15min at Monica’s studio space surrounded by the amazing and vibrant colours of her work, it didn’t take me too long to take out my phone and start recording like I usually do when I come cross amazing things, spaces and people, a part of that was a 3min on camera conversation that resonated with a lot of people at the screening of this episode as well as online 📜✍🏾

Through textiles and fibers, @_mon527 incorporates identity, family, relationships, and diaspora asking what it truly means to be part of the “fabric” of something, and sharing the way she had paint sit on the surface like mehndi on a hand in the Indian culture.
