Humbling reality check to all of those who have told us, and unfortunately keep claiming, that “small” SLINTA* collectives don’t attract big enough audiences. Also a reminder: SLINTA*-forward doesn’t equal “anti cis men” door policies nor threatens their privilege, our parties are always mixed. It simply shines a very necessary light on a systemic issue. Pride is not a commodity, and queerness is not a product nor a meaningless word that you can throw around whenever convenient for your promo and interviews or profitable for your club. It carries power, protest, and responsibility. From Brussels to Antwerp, and sadly everywhere: we see you. Wow. What an unforgettable edition 🍄 We walked into the woods with heavy hearts, pressure on our backs, and even a big financial loss staring us in the face… But somewhere between the moss, the goblins, and the fairy dust, something magical happened, and made it worthwhile. We’re still speechless. This turned into the party we didn’t know we needed, surely even one of our best ever. A wild reminder of why we keep doing this, even when we’re tired and unsure. The true MISSFITTE spirit came alive thanks to you all: the most unique crowd, our insanely talented artists we’re lucky to also call friends, and the @illegaalbelgium team who embraced our values and requests to help us build a safer enchanted ground. Deep gratitude to Sara Lovisetto, our untiring care-witch, and to Sarah & Emmo, the sweetest gatekeepers of the forest 💚 And of course, our precious sceno volun~tears. That shared joy, freedom, and true sense of community 🍀casted a spell that healed something very deep, and that will live on. Now the forest sleeps, while we enjoy a deserved pause. In a b2b with 𝐃𝐆𝟐𝐅𝐗 from the undergrowth, who tiptoes in unpredictable and percussive, feeding the forest with versatile gems and sudden surprises, a true trickster of the faders. And closing the evening, our resident demon of joy, 𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐀 𝐉𝐔𝐈𝐂𝐄, pours out trance-y, progressive waves (fluid, queer, unapologetic) mixing hypnotic grooves and forbidden throwbacks until the moss itself starts to dance. Joined by the tornado herself: 𝐔𝐍𝐎𝐒. Lyv Santerre’s passion is trans science fiction and underwater life, which he combines to create performative forms, costumes and plastic installations - they create in order to archive queer lives, to draw magical worlds/portals, for anger, for glueing back together & for the trans people of the future.
