I found a beautiful princess, so I asked her to marry me. 💍✨ We arrived at Gyeongbokgung Palace bright and early to beat the crowd, but the real adventure was finding the perfect spot. After exploring, I found this stunning area that overlooks the city skyline with a glimpse of the palace. It felt like the perfect moment to ask the most important question of my life. ❤️

I am a competitor. What started as a small, selfish goal — to prove I could commit — turned into something much bigger. I thought “The Shift” was just a play on words. A new direction. A physical transformation. But it became something deeper: a shift in purpose, in identity, and in the way I saw myself. Bodybuilding challenged me more than I expected — not just physically, but mentally. At times, I felt I was becoming someone I didn’t recognise. But I realised: to become the best version of yourself, you sometimes have to face the worst. That version of me taught me hunger, resilience, and a deeper appreciation for the process. As a powerlifter and coach, I’m used to measurable progress. In bodybuilding, I had no idea how I was tracking. That uncertainty was the hardest part — not the calories, not the cravings, but not knowing if I could actually be great on stage. Being asked for answers when I was still figuring things out was overwhelming. That’s where my coach @hyprepp came in. His reassurance kept me grounded. His leadership gave me direction when I needed it most. And now — here we are. We showed up. Followed the plan. And walked away with more than I imagined: winning every category (First Timers, Novice, Open) and earning an NBA Pro Card @nbaaustralia_official This journey has been nothing short of transformative. And this is just the beginning. We’ll take the time to rebuild, refine the physique — and return as a better athlete and, more importantly, a better person. To Ruby @rubyyjean — thank you for your love, your patience, and for holding it down when I couldn’t. I couldn’t have done this without you. I can’t wait to be your husband. 📸 @charleslowthian @flogglewoggles_

We’ve become much more aware of how external stressors can affect training performance, and that awareness is important. But there’s a difference between acknowledging stress and convincing yourself the session is already doomed before it even starts. Not every tough week automatically equals a bad performance in the gym. Full version of this video is on YouTube where I also talk about my take on what people actually need to do to “lock in” for training and I showed everyone how terrible I am at Pilates 😅 @vmaaak.ess @danieller.osteopathy 📸 @thirds.co

I’ve noticed that a lot of modern powerlifting programs are trending towards progressive or ramping RPEs across a block. And while I still use this approach when I program for lifters, lately I’ve shifted towards a more static RPE setup for my own training. Not because it’s better, but because it’s been more effective for me right now. What I’ve found: - I’m forced to engage more with every single set, I can’t just “ride the wave” of a planned progression - It gives me clearer feedback on my week-to-week performance, rather than relying on what should be happening - Taking a more bottom-up approach keeps me in tune with how I’m actually moving and performing on the day - My decision-making becomes more reactive and informed, instead of based on assumptions - When something feels off, it’s much easier to isolate and troubleshoot without the noise of a changing target At the end of the day, it comes down to context. Whether it’s static RPE, progressive RPE, percentage-based work, or specific load prescriptions, they’re all just tools. The key is knowing which tool to use, and when. Anyway, I’ve uploaded another YouTube video. Woah! Am I actually posting consistently again(now)?

Let’s try this again 😆. I started a series called The Shift to document my first bodybuilding prep. I uploaded two episodes… and then disappeared. LOL! The next video I posted was already my competition, where I ended up winning the overall and earning my pro card. In this video, I talk about: - the mental challenges of doing bodybuilding for the first time - what it felt like having no point of reference during prep - going from being the coach… to the one having to trust the process - and why I stopped documenting everything midway through Right now, my focus is back on coaching, building Elemental Strength Society, and pushing my powerlifting again, but I still want to share more of this journey moving forward.

TSF OPEN 6/12/25 Stepping back onto the platform after 2 years and my first time competing as under 83’s. It took a while to convince myself to compete again and with the support of everyone around me, it was definitely the right decision to dive right back in. An absolute perfect day all around by going 9/9 on all of my lifts, not a single red light and securing first place🥇.The journey doesn’t end here with so much more potential to be tapped into and more weight to add in the future. S 230kg (+30kg) B 150kg (+20kg) D 245kg (+30kg) T 625kg (+80kg) Very big thankyou to @thestrengthfortress @thirds.co @loading_visuals @vvisuals._ @_michael.ess @oliviamammone00 @sebaztiankratz @vichat_phin
