Honestly idk what to call this piece, I was just really messing around with this tool. It’s taken me at least 2 years to get to this point in Motion, 2 years are not only to learn the tool, but a large part of it is to find out wtf are people doing out there and how do they create it. This morning thought- why not share my files? so maybe someone out there is struggling the same way I was (now still :)) but way less)

There was one thing I realized while creating this motion. That day I spent at least 3 hours, or maybe more… on Pinterest, and just scrolled through thousand of posts to search for what so-called “inspiration”. Untill my brain was rotten, hands were sore and all energy was gone.
“What tf I’m I doing?” I asked myself.
That’s when it hit me: it’s now or never
Just sit down, so something, anything.

“He who plants the tree plants a hope”.
This animation isn’t meant to carry a deep meaning, but it is a small, heartfelt story about a single rose that unexpectedly bloomed on my little plant after 3 weeks of all the flowers withering away. My mom told me it’s rare for the rose to bloom again after its first life, and “Whoever plants a tree will have a song to sing”.
This is a song that I choose to sing today.

SAIGONESE | Work in use 💚
Saigonese is an AR postcard series I sent to my friends, inspired by my sensory experience during a trip to Ho Chi Minh City.
It draws on phenomenology, which emphasizes direct experience. The project encourages awareness of our surroundings through sight, sound, smell, taste, touch, and feeling. During the trip, Saigon unexpectedly unfolded in front of my eye as a seamless integration of the past and today life.
I choose Southern Vietnamese Modernist Architecture to symbolize the Saigon’s transformation. A static element is animated based on its key characteristics: space, geometry, and light. The architecture is running from the past, from the war to embrace the energy of today’s life.
SaiGon is more than it’s buildings, it’s about people in Saigon - Saigonese. They are all smiling, running and working, blending with the beat of the city, and all are creating the changes of a vibrant Saigon.
