Here’s what happens when art and sports collide 🤝
As we prepared to host the @nxtpro_hoops x @pro16league basketball tournament 🏀 featuring elite youth athletes, we partnered with @_martkd and @citywallsdetroit to give 9 local artists the opportunity to tell a Detroit basketball story through canvas and sneaker art.
12 canvas artists took part in an hour long art battle to showcase their talent. Ultimately 4 were chosen to display their work at Huntington Place alongside the work of 5 sneaker artists who customized puma classics.

We brought the conversation on art collecting to 3rd Space Sessions — and when @kendalelj steps into the room, you listen.
He’s not just talking theory.
He’s actively collecting, building, and shaping perspective in real time.
Access to this kind of insight is rare.
No gatekeeping.
No fluff.
Just game you can actually use.
Are you collecting yet — or still thinking about it?
Drop a ✌🏾 if you’re ready to start.

We didn’t build a space. We built a creative ecosystem across two UNESCO Cities.
This is what happens when creative ecosystems are treated as infrastructure—and community leads the way.
ART & Belonging MARTKT began in Trinidad (May) with a simple goal: connect global creative communities through art, access, and exchange starting with Trinidad and Detroit.
Opening the MARTKT space in Detroit (September) transformed a collective vision into a true third space—shaped with creatives, strengthened by @reebok
grounded locally by @designcoredet connected globally through @ttcarnival365 and vibes created by @startingfromscratch
Alignment over sponsorship. Always.
Now comes the stillness
That’s where direction reveals itself.
Resting. Reflecting. Refining.
THANK YOU to everyone who supported the vision
See you in 2026—preparing and ready for what’s next.

Hello December!
Building the Art & Belonging MARTKT space has taken a lot of hard work and constant learning — but moments like this make every step worth it.
Last month, we welcomed @keibajacobmottley from Trinidad and Tobago's @ttcarnival365 to Detroit. Not only did she showcase her powerful personal artwork, she helped spark a deeper bridge between the Caribbean diaspora and Detroit’s creative community.
What started as a vision to create a 3rd place for art, culture, and connection is now becoming a space where global creative ecosystems can meet, learn from one another, and build lasting relationships. And this is just the beginning — starting with Trinidad, we’re opening doors for broader Caribbean voices to find a home and a platform in Detroit.
A huge thank-you to @lizzcardwell@kiana_designpro@designcoredet and Detroit’s UNESCO City of Design team.
This partnership has been pivotal in making collaborations like this possible. Our belief in creative exchange, cultural storytelling, and international connection is helping shape the future of what we can build TOGETHER.
Proud of the work. Excited about the momentum. And committed to continuing to build spaces where art and belonging meet.
