Things you may or may not know about me✨ Trying to share a dose of realness as I do feel people put content creators on a pedestal when in reality we are NORMAL people with NORMAL emotions who just happen to share snippets of our lives🌸 Inspo from the queen @laylahlifts

Did you know 1 in 4 people in the UK suffer from a mental health problem annually? That’s a huge statistic so especially given May is mental health awareness month take this as a sign to 1) Please please please reach out to a friend, family member or a charity like the Samaritans etc to chat, don’t do a permanent fix for a temporary problem 🌈 and 2) Ask your friends and family how they really are - don’t just accept ā€œfineā€ as an answer see how things are and make it known that they can reach out to you if they’re struggling. Sometimes knowing support is there even if you don’t need it at that time helps a situation 10000x more. #maymentalhealth #maymentalhealthawarenessmonth

Maybe the first step to becoming confident isn’t ā€œfaking itā€, maybe it’s just stopping yourself from diminishing your own dreams out loud as so many of us including myself do. But why are we so embarrassed about wanting more for ourselves? This is your reminder to start saying the thing out loud. no apologising.no shrinking yourself.no downplaying what you actually want. the right people will never make you feel stupid for dreaming bigger so please remember that today🌟 Also a huge thanks to @asicsrunning @drbeccasalmon @the_healthcareclub for such a fun evening that really sparked some good thoughtsšŸ¦‹

Did you know your nervous system is actually designed to regulate through connection? 🧠 When you talk to someone you trust, your brain can begin to shift out of survival mode. Supportive conversations help calm the amygdala, the part of the brain responsible for fear, stress, and emotional reactions while also lowering cortisol levels (your body’s main stress hormone). This is called co-regulation: a psychological and biological process where our nervous systems respond to feelings of safety, understanding, and connection from other people. Humans were never designed to cope with everything alone, which is why talking to a friend can genuinely make you feel calmer, lighter, and more emotionally regulated. Even hearing someone say ā€œI understandā€ or ā€œyou’re not aloneā€ can signal safety to the brain. When the brain feels safe, it becomes easier to process emotions clearly instead of staying stuck in anxiety, overwhelm, or overthinking. So next time you’re feeling down, stressed, anxious, or emotionally overwhelmed, don’t isolate yourself. Call a friend. Go for a walk with someone you trust. Let yourself be supported. Sometimes healing starts with simply feeling heard šŸŽ€

Been on a rollercoaster of emotions for the last give or take two weeks. I’m realising now that a lot of my ā€œself worthā€ I placed on how far I ran, how productive I felt or how I looked and right now all of those have basically gone to sh*t. In a world preaching that depression doesn’t hit a moving target may be right but do you do when you can’t move for whatever reason, you get surgery, you get an injury, you have an accident - then what? Well that’s what I’m about to try find out. What else can we do to find a new coping mechanism that isn’t just moving our body. So stay tuned as I go through the next few weeks finding out I suppose šŸ„¹šŸŽ€šŸ¤žšŸ»ā¤ļø

There’s actually science behind why getting your hair done makes you feel better šŸ‘€āœØ Psychologists call it ā€œenclothed cognitionā€ research shows the way we present ourselves affects our confidence, mindset & even behaviour. When you feel more put together, your brain links it to self-worth, attractiveness & being in control, which can increase dopamine + boost mood. That’s why after fresh hair, a gym session or a cute outfit… you suddenly feel more confident & productive 🧠

In a world online full of curated perfected life’s and pictures please don’t forgot that everyone is human and they share what they want not what their whole life is. We are human, we have bad skin days or bad body image days or just bad mood days and all of that is completely NORMAL. So if you’ve needed a small dose back to reality please let it be thisšŸ„¹šŸŽ€šŸŒˆšŸ©·

Having multiple things to stress about really takes away from the fact of stressing about surgery🤣 #surgery #boobreduction

Ever wondered why some people are go getters and seem to not have that thought telling them they can’t inside their head?🧠 That’s because they have built their version of ā€œbrain evidenceā€ Here’s a little snippet of why this happens and how YOU can use it to your advantage!!
