I’m happy to announce a new series of prints I’ll be exhibiting at @541barton from my ongoing body of work entitled Passages: Bigger Than Your Shadow.” . The show runs May 28th - August 31st 2026. Closing reception TBA.
This patiently made body of work uses personal and mythological visual vocabularies to expressively navigate the violence of transformation. Themes of masculinity, mental health, and self care have been fundamental to the basis of the work, however newer pieces touch on ideas of spirituality, of mortality, and of renewal. My work draws from the dynamics of my own lived experience and offers symbolic glimpses of my quest navigating hope in uncertainty. I hope that by excavating my own truths that I’ll help others delve into their own. This body of work serves as a visual and symbolic record of personal growth.
I’m very grateful for the support from @ontarioartscouncil for assisting with the exhibition of this work. Framing is expensive, even when you do it mostly yourself. That bit of funding makes the world of a difference in sharing my work so thank you 🙏.

Broke in the new easel today 🎨. Was a beauty day to hang outside for a bit. #pleinair . I’m enjoying painting along the red hill valley trail. Didn’t see as much garbage today 🗑️ lol.
Super grateful for hangs with @timmay_babe and @mike_vandyk shooting the @bleekerofficial set last night. Nothing better than seeing pals crush it. @theisoscelesproject used to gig frequently with Adrenochrome ( arguably the best metal band out of Orillia that featured Mike and Timmy on bass and guitar) yesteryear, so it warms my heart seeing friends still continue to bear the torch. Fucking killer set and much love. Also wanted to throw a pic of the photographer who was shooting also. He was all over the place doing a great job. I literally leaned against the wall the whole time lol.
Quick photoshoot with Rocky before I tricked him into the carrier with treats. He wasn’t happy with me, but he’ll be happy when he gets his forever home. I definitely had to earn his trust ( which I took advantage of ) more than the other fosters I’ve had. He was shy and hiding when I first got him, but he eventually started emerging more often to cause more shit around the house. His hobbies include scratching and pulling at the carpet, whining for no reason, playing with the spinny ball toy, swatting at me through the pillars on the stairs ( as seen in many photos 😅), and biting me while cuddling. I’ll miss him 🫶
I’m glad for the longer days. Still time to paint when I get home from work. It was still a bit of a time crunch before sun went down. Didn’t get a chance to take step shots of the painting, but I like where it ended up. This was the first painting where I tried to paint the garbage that was hanging on the trail. It’s a more nasty and visceral painting, but also honest. Also I ordered a new easel. This easel has seen 8 summers surprisingly and like well over a few hundred paintings I think.
I’ve been revisiting some nirvana lately. Pennyroyal tea has always been my fav song by them hence the selection.
Last shot is a pic or Rocky who I’ll have the pleasure of fostering for the next week or so before he gets put on display at another pet store to find his forever home. He’s been the most shy and the one who has needed the most work to get to come out of his shell. He can still be a major pain in my ass scratching the carpet and randomly biting me when he’s cuddling with me, but he’s also a little cute cute ☺️lol.
