I’ll never forget the summer of 2014, where you asked me on Facebook if I wanted to be your creative partner. When we started back at school, we quickly became two peas in a pod. I’ll never forget when you and my mom had talked without me knowing, both wanting to convince me to accept our first job in Australia. It’s the best decision I have ever made. You opened my world. To live with you, work with you and see your creativity so up close have been the most special. I’m so honored. People were drawn to you, and you were kind and understanding towards everyone. Humans. Animals. Always accepting and loving. You saw the world with the most unique eyes. The way you’d photograph it, collage it with random things you’d find on the ground, and the way you wrote about it in your poems. You’ll always be my best friend. You’ll always feel like my sister, and my wife, at the same time. You made me feel good about myself, you made me blossom. You’re the strongest person I’ve ever met. You’ve felt enormous love from friends, partners and pets. You’ve traveled and seen the world. There are boys and girls in all corners of the globe who are mourning you and who have felt your love. You loved so many, and you are loved by so many. Since I heard the news I’ve seen little signs from you everywhere. When I close my eyes before I go to sleep. In the music from the restaurant I walked past. A pink cowboy hat and a cross hanging in a cool truck you’d love. The smell of cinnamon buns. I love you so much Victoria. 2025 has been a year of big changes. I married the love of my life, surrounded by family and friends. I also lost my best friend to suicide. Feeling love and loss so intensely is difficult to navigate, but I’m grateful for all of the people in my life who have been there for me through it all. You’re all so, so important ❤️
