Demento/Haunting Ground was released on April 21st, 2005.
One of two games spawned from old builds of Resident Evil 4, Haunting Ground's familiar opulent castle setting is a hellscape for newly orphaned Fiona Belli.
Trapped here after a tragic car crash kills her parents, named sole heir of this gilded birdcage, she finds herself at the mercy of its inhabitants who all wish to use her for their own devices.
A failed homonculus sees her as a new dolly. A psychotic maid sees her Azoth as the source of complete-ness. Her uncle, the mastermind behind it all, sees her as the vessel for his new life.
Only able to run and hide, with the occasional use of alchemical concoctions to defend herself, she relies mostly on Hewie, a dog she saves from the castle grounds.
Together, they fight to survive the night in this castle of terror, a new adversary lurking around every corner.
One of the best horror games on the PS2, as you could expect from Capcom. The title was gutsy, unique, gorgeous and grotesque. It has phenomenal sound design and the soundtrack that fades in and out induces the ultimate panic attack during chases. The plot is horrific, the death screens, the bad endings.
Capcom definitely dared to cross boundaries and did it successfully - these same crossed boundaries are the exact reason you will likely never see a remake or perhaps even port of this game, at least not without very heavy revisions (which I am never a fan of.)
When I first played this so many years ago, I knew I was in for a treat, but I had no idea how such a gem remained so hidden. Before tiktok got its claws in it, and the retro game prices really spiked, you didn't hear as much about it outside of collectors calling it "rare".
Nowadays, this game actually gets its flowers and more. It is well worth your time as a horror fan, and especially if you can appreciate or at least tolerate the flight over fight in your horror.
Happy Birthday, Haunting Ground!

Clock Tower Superdeluxe 🇯🇵
A beautiful collectors edition jam packed with materials once scattered across many releases, all compiled into one perfect package.
I love that they went with the original cover art, and I love the new art cards as well. Really affordable edition for all you get with it. The dummy jacket was an Amazon Jp preorder bonus.
I did get the LRG set, but who knows when that will turn up. Since I got the PS5 version from them, I went for the Switch port here.
The crystal was a bonus for ordering from Ebten!
Are you sick of Clock Tower posts yet? I think I have one or two more items coming soon (other preorder bonuses) then I'll probably be done for a while 🤣

Maria 🦋 STL/Sculpt by @nympha3d , painted by me.
I was absolutely enchanted by this beautiful sculpt. It captures Maria's ghostly beauty and the meloncholic aura of Silent Hill 2.
Even though I wasn't crazy about her remake design, it looked so pretty in this sculpt that I painted her, too.
My favorite new thing is adding this fake moss to my kits. Adds some ✨️ pizazz ✨️

Clock Tower 2 Vinyl + Test Pressing
This is actually the second, the first I shared ages ago and had beautiful red packaging with Jennifer and her father, plus a spinning scissors effect when played (last slide).
This release is beautiful, with tribute both to A Nightmare on Elm Street and a nod to Phenomena, with the likeness to Jennifer Connely, an inspiration for the game.
Had to censor Helen because ig is ass. Clock Tower 2 has one of the best themes in the series, deceptively beautiful, while its chase music is top notch.

Silent Hill 3 Bradygames Strategy Guide
Guides were so magical back in the day. It was a treat just to read them even when not playing, packed with bios, lore and secrets with lovingly designed layouts. I like to pick them up from time to time when I can find them for a good price.

Ada Wong ☆ Resident Evil 6 Garage Kit by Omnisya (Wonder Festival Summer/Winter 2016)
(Second photo is from the sculptors blog, not my work)
I don't normally post kits in their unfinished state, mostly because once they come through the door I'm already working on them. However, I've actually managed to build up a backlog of stuff to work on, so it's gonna be a long while until I can get to this one.
I love RE6 Ada, sorry. So, I'm happy to have found this kit (actually, someone saw the listing and sent it to me. Many blessings for them 🖤) . It's quite small, and absolutely full of imperfections that will need fixing, mostly on her face which is going to be a pain in the ass. Every little air bubble will have to be filled and sanded while trying to maintain the facial features. Fun!
Other stuff I have waiting to be worked on is Reina from Deception 3, Yuuko from xxxHolic, Revy from Black Lagoon, and the beautiful boy from the crossroads (Junji Ito's Lovesickness), and my Slitterhead kits (Bokeh is putting out a Yin Yue soon 🥺).

Hollowbody is described as a tech-noir survival horror game. It's reminiscent of what the 80s and 90s thought the future would look like, with a dystopian twist.
We play as Mica, a smuggler who has found herself inside an area known as the exclusion zone, on a mission to save her missing partner Sasha, who was last detected in the area.
The exclusion zone is an abandoned city, all its residents having passed after being trapped and abandoned here after some strange, bio-terror incident. Rain falls heavily on debris and body ladden streets, huge lonely buildings towering on either side of Mica as she regains her bearings and carries on.
Crawling in the dark are twisted creatures, lunging with bleary eyes and clawed hands, but that's far from the worst thing lurking about. Something has infested the zone, its prior inhabitants. Something sentient, and it calls to Mica.
Echoes of the residents suffering can be heard via audio and through the many files. Gameplay is similar to most classic inspired survival horror titles, find key items and solve puzzles while surviving with limited resources.
I enjoy the weapon variety, while not massive, you do get unique options like a Jazzmaster (guitar) or a classic bow and arrow.
Hollowbody's strength lies in its world building early on, but most in its visuals and atmosphere. The soundtrack is intensely eerie at times, sometimes scarier than any creature encounters.
Due to its visuals, gameplay (and clear inspirations) its likened to the PS2 era, but I really get the feel of 2000s PC exclusive horror games. It's neat.
However, it doesn't end quite as strong as it starts. It begins to feel a bit linear towards and theres only a few enemy types. The ending is a bit confusing even with all the lore drops. It took reading discussions to understand it better, but I think if it had just a touch more exposition in game it would have really taken it up a notch, because conceptually, its amazing.

A free magazine that was apparenrly available at a shop in Japan of the same name in the mid to late 90s. This are small, thin booklets detailing upcoming releases with short reviews.
On the back of the Biohazard one, there is an advertisement for The First Fear port of Clock Tower. I got two more in the lot that I'll be passing along to friends.
I haven't forgotten about @mo_disk , I have some magazines I need to scan an upload in the coming days, including this one.

Inuyasha Gashapon (HG Series 3, 2002)
For such small, inexpensive, and old figures, they look really good. Inuyasha has had tons of gashapons over the years but this line is my favorite, recreating iconic poses/visuals.
Inuyasha is up in trees all the time, but this pose always makes me thing of the 3rd ending, "Dearest". (Shippo sleeping with his father, too.)
Everyone is nostalgic, understandably, for Fukai Mori, but all the ending themes were superb, and Dearest is one of my favorites.
I try not to buy anime figures for sake of space but he's tiny and over the years I kept coming back to it, and for $3 how can you go wrong?
Silent Hill f Cat Omamori
I just think he's neat. Look at that smug face.
A pretty strong omamori for early game but not one I used for long as there are far more useful ones to find, but the design (all of the charms really) is very nice.
These are fanmade and can be found occasionally on Mercari, but there are also Etsy listings that seem similar. A lot of the omamori have been officially recreated, but aside from the Peony and Daisy ones (which are very expensive now) the recreations aren't as convincing.
