(Los slides empiezan en español en slide #9) ‼️I’ve been debating posting this because, if I’m honest, this whole situation has weighed heavily on me and left me deeply disappointed. I want to be clear that I do not condone harassment toward this creator. I am sharing this to raise awareness, especially as she is now profiting from this work in the United States and shipping here. ‼️ It feels dishonest to say my work was shared to support or highlight me when I was never contacted and never gave permission. This is not about me being uncomfortable with my work being shared. It is about my work being used without consent, and framing it otherwise minimizes what actually happened. I also want to be honest about the emotional impact this had on me. It began to feel really upsetting to even look at my own piece. Something that was born out of love for my community, something that brought me and the people around me so much joy, suddenly felt heavy. Seeing that shift, knowing it was tied to harm and misrepresentation, has been genuinely painful. But also kind of ironic people would send me her posts without knowing, sharing how her keychains reminded them of my work has been both validating and unintentional to my feelings. I’m grateful to my peers who have shown up for me, supported me, and continuously validated my feelings throughout this process. I ask that whatever energy comes from this be directed toward supporting ongoing calls to action that uplift and protect our communities. 🫂 Please donate to @the805undocufund @vcdefensa @colectivo.mariposa805 and to families you come across, our community needs our help. I have stickers and shirts to help in my b10 but direct aid is also needed especially to our siblings up in SM and SLO who are still being heavily impacted these last few days. A note: whilst she did donate $25 to the fund (from the first /plagirized version), she, to my knowledge has continued to profit off the new design since.

The brutality of persecution against those speaking out and how we’re in month 9 now of this gen0c!de. I remind myself that hope is radical, joy is radical and that it is necessary to contradict these feelings and that every action counts towards helping, with whatever we’re capable of doing. Tu lucha, es mi lucha 🍓🏳️‍🌈 This years pride free sticker + maybe free prints (no purchase needed!) and a big giveaway to this years theme for our table!! (More details to come next week hehe) Ofc had to make it lucha libre themed and my ongoing joke about blue demon and el santo being yk 🤭 Ever since I began vending at pride I wanted to ensure folx would be able to get a freebie for attending especially the youth! I know how things are rn and being in conversation with different community members, it can feel guilty and hard to want to celebrate and come together. Whether it be the big corporations stopping their big old rainbow washing and the state of the world. People forget that pride in itself is a space that was made by community, for community. Queer elders, queer youth will continue to exist in and out of these spaces. And our struggles are very much interconnected to our neighbors and our own identities. We’ll be vending some items for mutual aid + Pride will have resources available to help families that have been affected/how to get involved. De OX a LA, La lucha sigue 🌟 🍓Aside from showcasing a piece , I’m excited to share I’ll be vending this Saturday at @superchiefgalleryla for @labulla tenth annual showcase + show honoring el santo! I’ll be having prints, stickers and some other goodies,Including some stuff from @studiojunmi , @kayekame , @desmadrexmundial & @nuu_savi_nails to raise funds for our families in Oxnard/the central coast ! A portion of my proceeds will go to both families in Oxnard and to @westla.rrn who we’ll also have information from on how to support families on the west side! Tickets are sold out but there’s still some available at the door! 🌟Hijxs de la lucha🌟 A piece reflecting on a lot of different people from my community and those I love dearly. Hijxs de la lucha is a reflection on different conversations, folx I love in the community and the youth, both our past selves, the youth now and the future generations. Featuring: references to the swapmeet bootleg masks, reference to @nuu_savi_nails a reference to the compañera @mitzi.jan collective huipiles, an unnamed luchador I keep drawing, the kites in Tlaxcala, a jaguar with a corn necklace from @taller_laguna (based back home), a muñeca lele from the otomi community but also referencing @oxnard.mayor a black panther with a spiked collar, farmworkers in the background, a Zapatista with his soccer ball & a hummingbird with its machete, referencing b & conejo, a Palestinian youth with a dove, wearing a bracelet from @xochipilli.jewelry as it’s using a slingshot, launching a dove and the eye of a z*on*st. Overall a tribute to the homies <3 I think of how folx often try to dissuade conversations that make them uncomfortable under the bias of not having everything be political, when every moment of our lives has been politicized and put us in struggle, against our own autonomy. Of how our justified rage is made to be commodified and watered down to stop those who’ve caused harm from being offended or angered. I think of the youth made to be mature, when they are still children, with wants and wishes to just be . A piece honoring those who fight for a better world, those who’ve inherited this fight & those who help uphold each other. Honored to have been invited to partake in this years @labulla 10th year anniversary, this year will be a fundraiser for @superchiefgalleryla so pull through!
