Sculpted light with @nyangath_ . I shot these a little while back and I’m so excited to finally start sharing them. I’m honestly obsessed with this model (& human!! I shot her first ever test shoot in 2021!?), and I love shooting beauty.

10 years as a full-time makeup artist. Time really is a thief, but what a decade it's been! I walked out of UNICEF Headquarters on January 29th, 2016, turned around, and took the photo on the right. My last job in the non-profit world, a field I spent close to 10 years in prior to makeup. I was 29 and about to start a new career. I was excited, scared, and probably still battling it out with myself in true Aquarian fashion 🤭
They say when you love what you do, you won't work a day in your life...well...looking back now at almost 40, it's definitely work! But it's work I love. Early days, late nights, existential crises, finally confirming I have endometriosis at one of my busiest points, the backstage/set reunions. This hustle can give the greatest high (and greatest low). Through it all, constants remain, my love for the craft and support system. I don't think there will ever be enough words to express how all of you contributed to my career and development as an artist. I've been in rooms and places a first-generation Ecuadorian-American girl from Queens once dreamed of. Things that were once goals. You've grounded me and reminded me who the hell I am when needed.
I didn't dream of being the next Pat McGrath when I started. I just wanted to make everyone who believed in me proud, doing what I love. Be the girl that made her dreams come true in her city. So far, I wouldn't have it any other way. I hope I've given other artists the same support I was given, don't ever be afraid to reach out. Before I get too weepy (Aquariuses don't cry, remember? 😏), I'll say do what sets your soul on fire, even if it scares the hell out of you (and it will). You'll work harder than you probably ever will, but I promise it gets better. This path is truly what you make it. It's yours.
Note to self: Keep being the #queensgirl who wanted to make it at home, keep taking it ALL in. Celebrate all the things! A whole decade down, they haven't seen anything yet 😉❤️

I’ve been experimenting more with lighting setups and letting myself fall back in love with the process — chasing softness, depth, and small shifts in tone.

There are too many to name, but if you’re reading this, thank you so much for trusting me and giving 120% to bring my story to life.
The outpour of love from cast, crew, friends, my dad, all my dead momma’s friends and the City of Yonkers is profound. I’m still in shock and proud of the set I ran and what we were able to create in just 8 days! Thank you for achieving my main goal of creating an original story about family, which never felt like work. It felt like family cookout vibes.
This TV show has many more steps before we go to market, but in the meantime, send positive and loving vibes while I cry for being so thankful for knowing and working with you! 😭🤎 #grownchild
