Two of my best friends growing up passed away in my 20’s. Landis Bussell and Jeffrey Franklin were staples of my younger years. I never expected to lose friends at such a young age and I couldn’t believe it was happening. That kind of pain was different and I didn’t know how to deal with it. When I think back on the days when life seemed easier and carefree, I can vividly remember the late nights, the barn parties, pulling into Bussell’s barn, the fights after football games, Jeffrey’s green eyes and so many more things that I wish I could go back and do just one more time. We all thought we would stay young forever! “What I Know Now” comes out May 22nd!
I grew up on Hickory Woods Drive. This next song of mine is a true story about the glory days if you will. High school feels like a lifetime ago but sometimes it feels like yesterday. The late nights. The bonfires. The reckless living. Staying up all hours of the night and being wild! Sometimes I wish I could go back even just for a day! “What I Know Now” coming May 22nd
I am so excited to have the opportunity to open for @ingridandress this Sunday at @thehifiindy ! She is so insanely talented and I’m thankful to join her! Doors are at 7, show is at 8! I will be playing an intimate, solo acoustic set! This will be one of my last hometown shows for a little while before I head back to Nashville so come on by! Would love to see ya!
Who can relate to building walls up around your heart but still wanting to let someone in? To locking all your doors on the inside but wishing someone would find a key? Don’t get too close but don’t go away! Leave me alone but call me back… new song im working on! Also, practicing screaming a little more in my songs, I’ll get better at it! #newmusic
This new song coming next month is about high school. Growing up without a care in the world. It references 2 of my best friends who have already passed away. Landis Bussell and Jeffrey Franklin were center pieces of my childhood and into my 20’s. I often think about what I would have done differently had I known what was coming? Here is a little clip of “What I Know Now” // let me know what ya think!
And we are live! “I Don’t Like The Way I’m Feeling(without you)” is out on all platforms! This was a fun one for sure! I was lucky enough to write this bad boy with my good friends @kg_nolan and @tommyscifres ! @kg_nolan just so happens to also be my producer and he has done an incredible job driving this ship! Thank you to @dgmurf , @futureghost41 , @mattnolandrums as well for bringing it all the way to life! Not to mention the harmonies from @tommyscifres // that was the icing on the cake to this classic but fresh country tune! @andersonjake1 and @dylanswindell_ killed the artwork as usual! I’m definitely grateful to be working with such an incredible team! @frank_at_fuselagemastering thank you for mastering this one as well!
