it’s been a little over a week since you met us at the……
thank you for coming to our listening party! those 3 sessions were moments that can never be recreated, and that makes our time together so special. we feel undeserving of the warmth you’ve offered us. thank you for this memory, we will keep it very close to our hearts for a very long time.
the music makes sense when we get to share it with you, when it’s no longer just ours. also, you helped us raise $1,210 for @glyph.asia !!!
You guys chose the most inconvenient way possible to listen to our music… physically traveling to an obscure venue, sitting with a bunch of strangers, doing nothing but listening to a vinyl spin — together. We’re sure our music not being on spotify won’t be that much of a big deal. We hope our music finds you in time.

Last December @motifsband flew to Iceland and spent two weeks in a recording studio. We didn’t come with a lot of songs, but somehow they came together while we were there. On the way to the studio every morning, we’d always pass by this house, the same one on the cover.
You’d know we carry a lot of good memories there, from watching Björk at a Christmas party to seeing Sigur Rós at Harpa. This one feels like our most mature record with a bunch of us in our late 20s and early 30s now, and it’s getting harder and harder to keep making music.
I hope this one shows why we still try. And just wanted to add: this whole thing started because @leonardsoosay had the idea to record a band in Iceland, and pushed it to make it real..
Just grateful we got to document something special out of that time with my friends.
loveliest encounters with friends old and new. thanks @leonardsoosay and serene for the backstage pass to meet SIGUR ROS was pretty awesome to be in a room with your musical heroes for a new mins!! also paul and myself was nerding about @fischersund scents and the girl beside us @dulcet_tones_ turned out to be a crazier fischersund / sigur ros fan than both of us. thanks heaps for the sadlist!
