On October 6th my 8 year journey
@bcchf ended. I got my bloodwork done and was cleared at my final cancer checkup. To celebrate, right after the appointment, ran 103 miles (166km) back home in 23 hours and 40 minutes. We were also able to raise over $80,000 for
@bcchf . That means combined with my run in 2021, “Jayden’s Run” has been able to raise over $200,000 for
@bcchf .
The power of community was something I never truly understood until last year. After losing my mom in 2020, and then losing Aaron in 2021, I hit rock bottom in the beginning of 2022. I needed to do something. Thats when
@devonlevesque invited me to my first
@alldayrunningco event and that's how I met a lot of these amazing people. That trip changed my life. Everyone there had a story and was there to better themselves. When you put yourself in an environment like that with great people, great things happen. I was reminded that when this life is all said and done, the only things we get to take with us are the memories/experiences shared with the people we love. Running 100 miles home by myself would have been terrible. But it was all of the people I love coming together as a community, and creating an experience that all of us will get to take with us one day, thats what made it special.
During the run, I wrote “24 hours=lifetime of memories. Great ROI” on my arm. Every time I hit a low, I reminded myself that in less than 24 hours this will all be over, and if I just keep pushing for 24 hours, I will be able to look back on this forever. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done physically, but even more so mentally. Pushing ourselves physically and mentally reveals our untapped potential. Once you realize that, you can apply that lesson to your life not just physically, but in your personal life, business, etc. A year ago, I didn’t know I was capable of running 100 miles, but I do now. I encourage each and every one of you to try something you never thought you could do before, and you will be amazed at what you can achieve. It doesn’t have to be running 100 miles, it could be going on a small hike. Everyone's “hard” is different.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you ❤️
