This is the collection of pulled combos and tricks from both runs at the Flatland Fury competition held at @rampfest in conjunction with the National BMX Freestyle championships. I went right into the flatland competition straight after I rode in the over 45’s park competition (which I took the 1st, yeah stoked). The area we had to ride was not flatland friendly with lots of undulating spots on it but you have to work with what you got. I took 5th in the flatland competition.

Had a great 40 minute session yesterday in the backyard riding spot (Concert hall forever). It rained twice for a few minutes but I waited and got rolling again.

Clip 1 - A little warm up thingy
Clip 2 - A quick grab of the seat
Clip 3 - Backward fire hydrant / Half lash / backward rolling / mc circles / swivel
Clip 4 - I hops / RL hops haven't done this one for a very long time
Clip 5 - Bar spin / half lash / forwards / chickade

Clip 7 - Tomahawk (still feeling out the riding space)

This i think is my best xup endo I've done. Taken in Geraldton about 15 years ago. It was in the magazine BMX press and taken by Fndy Aortini.
I later went on to snap that frame Im riding on the down tube at the Margaret River show only to zip tie and gaffa tape it together the next weekend for the Gidgegannup show.

Finally I can start to focus on riding flatland again. The last 4 months have been way too hectic to try to get a ride in even with my new spot having to be in my back yard (Concert hall forever) but I got session number 4 done. It was only a 30 minute roll but very happy with the results, having the comfortability with the riding area was a good feeling.

Both my runs from the @auscyclingaus Australian BMX national championships that were held at @rampfest .
I couldn’t believe that i took the win in the over 45's as the oldest competitor at 57.
When I get ask if I'm an Australian Champion I can say yes.
Cant wait to compete again in the 2027 national championships, im looking forward to it.

Third flatland session for 2026 was in Melbourne at the famous Imax location. I was in Melbourne for Freestyle Now BMX stunt shows so I didn't have my flatland bike so I used the street/park bike. They are set up identical except the street pegs are not flatland friendly and the Animal GLH tyres are a lot slower than the S&M trackmark tyres my flatland bike has. It was a good 90 minute session with a good vibe, something I was needing to get my flatland feeling going.

Clip 4 - Going upside down with a swivel at the end
Clip 5 - Slider to wheelie to slider

Clip 7 - Haven't done a seat grab infinity roll since long long time ago till now

Clip 8 - Thanks to Grant for letting me use his bike to do a quick spin, another trick I haven't done since I was way younger. Its essential to have the bard and seat meet so you can hold them both.
Clip 9 - Out with a woody whip
Clip 10 - Tomahawk comp, a bit sketchy but ill take it
Clip 11 - I was trying the peg grab wheelie for a while but the session was fighting me for it so i just skipped the peg grab and went through the combo to finish with the mc circle
Clip 12 - Did an elbow glide to finish up the session just on 3% left of battery on the filming devise

Second flatland session for 2026, I'm way behind the game but I hope to get to a good number by the end of the year. Now the Concert Hall has gone, after riding there for 18 years I'm now having to adapt to the smaller slower rougher spot at home. When I started riding the Concert Hall it changed the way i rode so this spot will have the same effect, it will just take time to modify the trick to make it work.

My first flatland session in 3 months. No more Perth Concert Hall after 18 years. Maybe after the renovation the spot might open back up, for now its backyardin. Check the video for the prelude and outro on my thoughts on this.
