The ocean has shaped who I am.
Every step I take - it will be for you. š¬š
On a day like today - World Ocean Day - my wish is simple:
That you are met with more respect, always.
#worldoceansday
āØWorld Orca Day...
Most probably a day that raises more questions than answers for those of us who love and admire these magnificent beings.
š¹ What do we really know about them?
š¹ Why do so many of us feel such a deep, almost inexplicable connection?
š¹ Do governments understand the fragility of their ecosystem?
š¹ Why would anyone feel to do invasive studies ā driving nails into their dorsal fins?
š¹ Can we ever live in harmony with a species that means no harm, yet is so often misunderstood?
š¹ Is there a place where orcas can simply be ā curious, playful, undisturbed by our need to dominate, our greed, our fear?
š¹ Can we finally stop treating them as data points and begin observing with empathy ā listening to their language, their stories?
When you collaborate closely with them ā as we do at @wewhale_org , with @iberian_orca_guardians , and @seashepherdfrance through the Save The Iberian Orca campaign ā these questions are in your heart every single day. Every morning. Every night.
Once youāve seen their vulnerability, felt their presence, and heard their voices⦠your life changes.
You no longer walk fully in the world humans have built.
You begin to feel to belong to something deeper. And damn, itās hard to quiet your mind after thatā¦.
š¤ Happy World Orca Day to those who speak up for orcas.
š And donāt forget to join our Q&A Livestream later today with @orcaingrid , @sarahconnor , and @_janek_andre_
Thanks for your continuous support @oceanbluetree

Hello April.
Something important begins now here in the Strait of Gibraltar.
Itās the time when the Atlantic bluefin tuna begin their migration from the Atlantic into the Mediterranean. A fascinating natural movement.
And with the tuna, the Iberian orca returns more frequently.
For thousands of years this moment has shaped life along the coasts of Cadizā¦.for us humans and for the animal kingdom.
Mostly in symbiosis. Mostly in peace. And often in respect for the orcas.
People in the Stone Age already understood this. The Phoenicians recognised it too. Hopefully we will continue to remember it.
Hello April.
The cycle begins again.

4 full days at BOOT 2026 in Düsseldorf.
Many conversations.
And always the same question:
What is happening to the Iberian orcas, and why are they interacting with rudders?
My answer is usually similar:
They are curious. They like to play with boats, especially rudders.
But the more important question is actually another one:
Why are they disappearing?
And how do we find out what is really happening to this population - and take real action to make coexistence a living reality?
It was a pleasure being on stage at the Love Your Ocean Stage hosted by @deutschemeeresstiftung and the Blue Innovation Dock moderated by @dierecke , representing the Iberian orcas together with an incredible team (@sarahconnor@akris.world@alexinwaterlust@danielasinghal )
Already looking forward to being back next year celebrating these orcas together with the boating and sailing community. šš¤š¤
