the best bit of every childhood event i can remember, i am so so thrilled to have taken possibly my most kitsch balloon creation yet to the marvellous @coloursmayvary in leeds as part of FUDDLE - a most mouth watering celebration of food and community and exhibition running all the way through to january.
what an utter joy to be a part of such a fun-filled (and very cool) event, with equally as cool artwork by my pal @holliefuller_ that is even on chocolate bars!! 🍫
a very proud moment, and i can’t wait to properly soak in all the wonderful work on display. which you all should definitely do too! 🎂🧁🍧

make a balloon chandelier for a beautiful third birthday celebration with me.
from idea to reality, and inspired by polish folk art pajaki (which is usually made using straws, beads and paper flowers) this ridiculously whimsical balloon chandelier was an absolute joy and delight to make. i mean look at it. how could it not be?!
a little hanging world of balloon flowers, bead garlands and a tiny bunny guest of honour. something between a chandelier, a mobile and a party sculpture.
i love exploring how balloons can become something more than decorations. something a little bit magical that hangs in the air and slowly spins when someone walks past.

the hobby to small business pipeline is a path to ascension that is already very well studied and documented, but i thought i’d throw my top tips into the ring.
especially highly recommended are slides 3 and 4.
balloon bag charms to squeeze whimsy into any corner and crevice of your day, and making strategic decisions informed only by atmospheric changes to ensure maximum trustworthiness (who’s got time to collect and follow data any other way????) ✨
in all seriousness though, i wouldn’t trade this for the world🎈🫧 because what do you mean i get to spend time making silly hats and balloon friends and travelling up and down the country with an ikea baby changing table that i turned into a tiny kiosk?
just me feeling like a big girl because i’m using a website widget to make sure balloon elephants, lions and bumblebees on sticks can travel around with fewer logistical challenges.
gulligull’s little party parade is now a thing! 🫧
and hopefully it’s easier than ever (if you’re in the uk) to get balloons to your door, for your parties and celebrations, or just if it’s a really nice weekend and you need a wee pick me up.
i wouldn’t say they’re better than a bunch of flowers but they do each have their own unique face and i don’t often meet people with such stone cold hearts that they can resist them.
but that’s just me.

tried to stay awake last night scrolling through the red carpet met gala looks but all i remembered this morning was the dream i had in which @frances_quinn came and made balloon flowers with me. and if i’m honest that was even better!
what a sad reality that bezos met gala is real but balloon flowers and cake was just a dream.
anyway enjoy these. it’s called ART.
i’ve been playing shops with my ikea sniglar baby changing table for TWO YEARS now.
i get asked all the time how i made the cart, and the truth is that my dad made it and is actually not a fan of it. he feels it’s unfinished and should be painted.
i, however, think it’s been absolutely perfect. this wee baby changing table on wheels has been the best ikea hack that i’ve not seen anywhere else, and has given me so much pride and joy over the past couple of years, i couldn’t ever measure it!
i’ve been to the best places and events (like @goodthingsmarket pictured here!), braved cobbled roads in york near @bishyroad and steep hills in stockport with @wolfnoodle_ and even all the way up to scotland with @endlesslovecreative . and so many more places in between!
but as the busiest month (maybe ever) starts for me, there are even more incredible places to visit and spread joy and balloons to. so it’s time for a little change up 👀

a quick wee reminder for the first day of may. which, maybe because of the sunshine and taller than normal shrubs in my garden, feels as though it’s brought a bit of an energy boost with it.
if you’ve been here a while, you might have sailed along with me whilst i found and fell in love with twisting silly balloons, despite originally being here when i found some vintage christmas decorations and obsessively made art about them.
the materials often change and what brings joy and excitement may fluctuate but it (and i?) am always growing from that same root. i’m excited to bring back the original family of gulligulls as our universe grows and swells with some incredible stuff this month. bloom girlies, bloom!
