Groundcycle (@_groundcycle ) isn’t afraid to play in the dirt. Based in New York, this grassroots organization helps homes, businesses, and events compost, diverting organic waste away from landfills. Groundcycle has quickly become a preferred Care of Chan vendor, with their composting bins anchored in the backrooms and kitchens of our events—from the Uniqlo Studio Ghibli dinner to our recent J.Crew NYFW celebration. Above all, we’re inspired by Groundcycle’s grit and mission to cultivate a greener NYC. Viv here 👋 it’s my birthday today! I wanted to share a deep note of appreciation for every single person who has ever composted with Groundcycle ❣️ y’all have changed my life! I’m beyond lucky I get to devote all my time to something I care about so deeply… it’s truly the honor of a lifetime to make this city more sustainable. I’ve met the most incredible people through our work who are now dear friends - y’all inspire me every day!!!! • a little story time! 6 years ago, for my birthday I gathered over 30 friends to volunteer at a community garden at 9am on a Saturday in the deep of winter (2nd slide)… as you could imagine, there wasn’t much planting or tending to do 🥶 instead, we moved wheelbarrows full of bricks + cleared paths for the upcoming planting season and even though it was grueling and cold, we had SO much fun along the way. it showed me the power of collective action 🫶 • 3 short months later, I started Groundcycle + my life has never looked the same since. in fact, I got to marry the love of my life in our own garden recently! • my one birthday wish is for this community to continue to grow even bigger - if you love what we do… share it with your friends, co-workers, etc. we want every household, office, restaurant, cafe, florist + event to be composting ♻️💚 I know we can do it together + I can’t wait for you to join us!!
