Anyone who knows me well has definitely heard me talk about how much this show has inspired me over the last 10+ years (the second photo is me just over 6 years ago, about to see the show live for the first time 🤩). The swans have influenced so many aspects of the ways that I enjoy moving: from the graceful strength of ballet to the fierce poise of new way vogue, so I am so excited to dive deeper into their world. 🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻
As part of celebrating this news with you, I also want to share that I unsuccessfully auditioned for this show last year. I’d had the show in my sights for a couple of years and I put in a lot of time and effort working towards the audition and trying to give myself the best chance of being cast. I really felt like it was my time. When it didn’t happen I was of course really disappointed and I felt a bit lost at what to do next after focusing on it for so long. It feels important to me to share this with you now as part of my journey to get here in order to recognise that with hard work and persistence, belief in your talents, and some lucky timing, you never know what could happen and things might just still work out for you. Sometimes the path to get to where you want to go is different from what you imagined, but you could still get there! 🫶🏻

Seeing the Hollywood sign felt like seeing a mythical creature 🦄. In a lot of art that I enjoy, mostly music and film, it represents a place where people chase their dreams as well as a place where the dark side of fame and success can cause people to lose touch with what is more fundamentally important. I was struck with reflections about my own journey navigating these things when I was staring up at it. I decided to eat the sign - I think that can be interpreted as a metaphor for my reflections, the light and dark side 🌝🌚
Some clips of me providing motion capture visuals in the Zero Gravity Club at the H&M&LA event to accompany live DJ sets 🕺🏻🕺🏻. We wear a motion capture suit and our movement gets put on the screens with extra effects added on top - cool stuff to play with when improvising.
