the imagery behind “my new name” is comprised of photos taken by my great grandfather from his time building the great alaskan highway. during the construction process, bears approached their worksite and they would kill the mothers and keep the cubs as pets. these photos felt heavy and misty when i first saw them. they were helpful in informing the world I wanted the new EP to live in.
