Hot metal, cool results TIG welding the rear guards for minimal distortion and easier finishing. Less time spent planishing, more time for building! #metalwork #fabrication #tigwelding #carbuild #customcars #weldinglife #nopainnogain #buildsomething #garagegoals #makersgonnamake #hotrod #restoration #detailwork #creativity #jdmhotrod #WidebodyS13 #jdmtuner

Part 1 of the widebody S13 build. A huge amount of time and effort went into not only building this car, but also filming and editing this video to properly capture the process behind it all. If you enjoyed the video and wanna see more behind-the-scenes build content like this, make sure to like, comment, and share — the support genuinely means a lot and motivates me to keep creating more content like this. part 2 coming soon ……. šŸŽļø: @_fat_s13 #kmfcustoms #nissans13 #s13silvia #carbuild nissansilvia

Now that the car has been unveiled at Motorex I’ve been able to finally show the finished product to all the people who sent words of encouragement along the way. The messages, good vibes and now friendships have been a massive motivator along this journey. I want to firstly thank my wife Shelle for enabling me to do this crazy project, as well as holding things together at home there’s not many guys who have a partner that will turn a blind eye to this batshit crazy way to spend your money and time & actually support it! I want to thank my employer (Mark, and Bill), as well as giving me the means and opportunity to chase this dream, you run a company I love to call home - evident by how many of my colleagues came to see the car unveiled! To all the guys who worked on the car, I appreciate you all big time! Not only did you guys execute with care and intent, you got on board with the them and helped to guide the style and choices that have shaped the car to what it is. @rudeglory was there from the inception of the idea to make a unibody 90s driftcar into a 60s/70s muscle car inspired ride. Tireless and extensive work to hand shape this body out of metal, as well as continuous commitment throughout the build. @tingodsolutions who rebuilt the wheels and installed the air ride but also provided lots of inspiration and ideas. @lc_staticlow who tirelessly prepped the body for paint and dealt with many headaches shaping this raw metal into what it is. @kmfcustoms who is an all round guru and executes everything with an obsession to detail that makes him a legend. Looking after all the mechanical, electrical, fab work, underbody, all the shaving and prep of the bay + more. @cktcustomtrim who has done every car interior you can think of and pumped out a full interior in no time, and wouldn’t settle for less than perfection in his work. @mrz_customz who jumped in and hooked up the engine bay paint with top quality workmanship @rfinegarage who put in massive hours in the lead up to get this car show ready with paint correction and coating. #FATS13 undergoing major surgery to add an all metal widebody conversion. Removal of a large section of the original guards/fenders, extension of the outer tubs to ensure an oem like finish and strength - many widebody conversions leave a gap between the new wider body panel and the original tub or add a simple filler piece that this probably won’t last the test of time as there is no solid structure to support the body panel in its new position. Original fuel filler delete (relocated to the boot). Hand shaped body panel using traditional coachworks techniques normally applied to extremely limited and irreplaceable vehicles, then welded in place and and hand planished, followed by lead filling and filing to get a nice surface for the bodywork and paint that followed.

The S13 build has been progressing massively in recent months, and I’ve been hanging out to post some photos of it and share details, but I also wanted to show the final idea and concept as a complete package. The car has been invited to be one of 20 unveiling cars in the Street Elite show category at MotorEx 2026! This will be the time to bring it out in the lights! I have also finally chosen a plate for this car [ FATS13] and have changed my Instagram handle to focus more on the Silvia (I’ve also been reducing the fleet too! šŸ™ˆ) The car will be unveiled at the MotorEx show on Saturday May 2 2026 at 1pm and I hope that you’ll be able to make it down and celebrate the amazing work all of the contributors to this build have done! 4 weeks to go, nearly there! @meguiarsmotorex

Today I said goodbye to the EK9. Bittersweet as this car was my dream car as a teenager. I always wanted to own one but had to settle for a 96 spec DC2R when I was about 19 or 20 - even back then (20 years ago) the EK9 was considered special and commanded a large premium over the DC2R. It was a privilege and a pleasure to own an EK9 and I wouldn’t rule out getting one again some day, (especially if a black or silver one popped up for sale). But I’ve felt for a while I have too many cars and aren’t able to really enjoy them with the time I have available, so am downsizing my fleet, plus show cars cost a lot to build!

Now my kid is old enough (to be allowed by mum) to ride in my old cars, I’m going to do my best to make a car girl of her! Off to a good start in the #mazda323gtx #bfmr last weekend.

The FL5 is an amazing car in nearly every way, but nothing compares to the B-series crossover #mugenintake #ek9mugen #ek9 #ek9melbourne

So good to finally get this car out of the garage, and every time I do appreciate it and erase those thoughts of potentially selling to make some garage space. While the car is not perfect it’s pretty honest about what and how it is, and has enough small good points the outweigh the bad points, for me. I’ve collected so many new and very good used parts that I haven’t installed while I target a full restoration somewhere down the line. It would be a shame to not see it through. On the other hand you can only drive one car at a time and it’s a waste to not dedicate yourself more fully to fewer cars. #ek9 #mf10 #mugen #ek9australia #ek9melbourne
