Hello beings of Earth, We have reached the 50th Falling Moon show! The gig to mark this milestone will be this: @louisoharamusic (& his Burley Chassis), @pysmelyn , @missgemstark & @bigoilmusic at none other than the wonderful @ivyhousenunhead . This will be a slightly earlier start than usual with doors at 6:00 and music from 6:30. To celebrate we'll also be putting together a zine which will be available on the night - if anyone wishes to contribute it's not too late to reach out! Hello living entities, On Saturday 28th March we will be putting on a night in the wonderful Bristol for the first time, and we are glad to be doing so in the @cafekino basement with music from Champion Trees, Kaspar Hauser and Junction! @championtreesband is a band from Cape Town, South Africa, that recently moved to the UK and released their second album, A Duck's Water Off My Back - a gentle and immersive record graced with memorable lyrics and gorgeous woodwind and string arrangements. @kasparhauserkh is a south London indie folk, chamber pop and experimental band formed in 2022. Their recent album The Pink Parade features 56 minutes of richly arranged story telling songs, often tackling themes of emotions, mental health, love and nature. Junction is the live band incarnation of Bristol based artist @alfiedemos , conceived with the mission of bringing to life the songs from his solo records. The band features a few members of @looneybergonzi and other musicians active in the Bristol scene. Hello victims of the human condition, We have a slight lineup update - Silent Spring will no longer be able to play this however @dimensionsband_ will be jumping in instead to kick off the day. A reminder that this will be the first ever Falling Moon all dayer, featuring a lineup rich of new and revamped projects yet unbeknownst to the mind of the typical concert attendee. Music will kick off shortly after 4pm with the following acts in the following order: @dimensionsband_ first show with new drummer @missgemstark playing and singing songs which remind us of all the best qualities of folk music. @spiritedfollowers otherworldly and also worldly post-rock outfit from Cardiff playing in London for the first time. S.W Gothic is the new band fronted by Wilf Cartwright (formerly of Hobby Horse and Tapir!) playing their debut show. @lifepath99_ (formerly bex) is an indie rock / dream pop project with great melodies, grooves, and tones. @dreamslugs - undefinable cross between outsider music and experimental pop to freak us out at the end of the night. Hello subjects of mankind, While still reeling from our show earlier this week it is time to formally announce our next night. This will take place once more at the universally beloved Ivy House in Nunhead with @rowan.and.friends , @baggioband and @missgemstark on Friday 22nd August. I've been told Rowan & Friends are touring the country by bicycle - which if true is pretty incredible. Also make sure to check out their new song "You Will Never Get That Feeling Back". Baggio are South London legends, the chances are if you've been anywhere near the Ivy House you would have heard of Ben Wyborn's 9-piece alt-country outfit remeniscent of the likes of Purple Mountains and Bill Callahan. Their latest album "The Dreadful Human Tangle" is great and so is the song they've contributed to our own Falling Moon compilation. We can forgive the 1994 World Cup final penalty miss. Gem Stark and the Clockwork Rabbits are the new kids on the block - I had the fortune of seeing them at a night they put on at Fox & Firkin a couple of months back. Gem's sprawling songwriting shone through and the band ticked like clockwork - despite the lack of real life rabbits a good time was had by all.
