MOT-LIVE presents a night of swirling and atmospheric songcraft!
Mabel Clarke describes themselves as an alt-folk-emo-jam band; their distinctive drone folk sound creates an immersive space for raw expression and rich textures.
They will be joined by an awesome bill featuring the luscious ethereal sonicism of Emily Izen Row, the cutting avant-folk of Amelia Blackwell, the tender and bracing balladry of Jonique (solo project of Joni from @frau13in ) and the lyrical sound bath of the drone-based experimental group 'telepath blue ensemble'.
A blissful night of extremely distinctive songwriters and expert sound-smiths
My single Body of Water is out now.
I wrote this song in a sad time but a time of changes. I’m so happy to share it with the world!
Out on Spotify, Bandcamp (if you want to support financially), Apple Music etc etc.
Tonight I’m celebrating alongside friends with a beautiful lineup of avant-garde songwriters at Venue MOT.
Thank you to James Moss @jamesmossnospaces for the selfless gift of helping me realise this in many ways.
Thank you to Imogen Campbell @imyc_embroidery . This beautiful art is a snippet of a much larger piece by Imogen which I will use someday for an album.
I am so proud to announce my first single as Amelia Blackwell titled “Body of Water” out on Thursday 5th June.
This song is my favourite of mine. Lyrically it’s a mess covering all my favourite themes from identity, sex, depression, womanhood and the natural world, and most of all change and coming in and out of oneself, when we hide away from the world and when we burst towards it. Musically I quite like it and sometimes it makes me cry.
To celebrate I’m putting on a night of joyous revelry on the day of the release, Thursday 5th June, at Venue MOT in London, with a lineup full of beautiful music from Freddie Firth, Pij (members of Hedgehog), Marika Tyler-Clark and Hysterical Backslider (James Moss). I’ll be playing some of my songs by myself and some of my songs with friends. Tickets on Dice please come!
This single will be a part of my upcoming as-yet-unnamed as-yet-unscheduled as-yet-unrecorded (but written) album out some time in the future.
Produced/recorded/mixed by James Moss without who this would not have happened <3
The beautiful cover art (to be shared at a later date) is by the amazing Imogen Campbell, sneak preview of a sketch version in the poster

🚨 New Single releasing Friday 10th Jan 🚨
sex/pol was written at the bequest of the band's bodhisattva herr Wilhelm Showbiz II & mixed by a small lad in Bow in exchange for a rub on the belly & some tobacco. Der generous family trust payed for this recording at a level commensurate w its degree of ambition and deformed assault. A new mind expanding challenge to your white (t)ears. DEFRA be warned. The message runs clear. Pull the handle plastic. It's time to get off the flight.
Art work as ever @holly.hollis
