Laurel Richardson has launched a gofundme campaign for the Besease Municipal Junior High School in Ejisu Besease to build an ICT center. Students in this school need access to computers and stable internet. They also need more textbooks. In a few weeks, students will take their national exams to receive their Basic Education Certificate. This exam requires students to demonstrate their theoretical and practical knowledge of computer applications. Currently their ICT instruction is being taught without computers on a blackboard. They are also missing textbooks in all subjects for the eldest students in JHS 2 and JHS 3. Our goal is to raise awareness of this need through Art and to raise the funding to build a technology center through the Envisioned Futures Project. In January of 2024, we broke ground on Phase 1- Constructing the foundation of the building. We are now fundraising for Phase 2- Constructing the substructure and roof of the building. Jobs were also created for construction workers who were hired to physically construct the building. With your support we are continuing this effort. Please visit our GoFund me to donate. For detailed information please visit the link below, in our Stories. You may follow @laurelarichardson for more info as well https://gofund.me/f5f3346d

W’AHU is a new magazine celebrating Ghana’s most diverse communities. Roughly translated as “Have you seen?” in the Akan language family, W’AHU sheds light on a diverse collection of visual artists, activists, stylists, photographers and writers working in Accra today. In a time when Ghana's creative voices are more essential than ever amidst the looming threat of anti-LGBTQ bills sweeping across the continent, W’AHU stands as a beacon of celebration and resistance for increasingly marginalised voices. You are welcome to join the team of W’AHU in Berlin this Friday for its European launch event at Savvy Contemporary (@savvycontemporary )with a special performance by Ghanaian singer and activist Angel Maxine. W’AHU Issue 1 is edited by Abraham Tettey (@master_ab ), Efia Serwah (@ex.cesses ), Colin Keays (@colinkeays___ ) and Federico Martelli (@fmartelli ), with Drama Queens (@dramaqueensgh ) as contributing editors and designed by Kaz Studio (@kxzxxmx ) @angelmaxinetv #wahu #critlab #exitframe #exitframecollective

RP @biennialassociation : IBA Stage: 35th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts February 13, 2024 (Tuesday) 2:00 pm (Ljubljana/GMT+1) If you have not registered yet for tomorrow's #IBAStage on the 35th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts hurry up! We are certain it will be a great discussion as we are grateful to have with us almost the entirety of the curatorial team of "From the void came gifts of the cosmos". Lead by the artistic vision of Ibrahim Mahama, the curatorial team included Kwasi Ohene-Ayeh from #ExitFrameCollective and Inga Lace developed both of whom will be with us tomorrow together with #NevenkaŠivavec director of the Biennale and IBA Board member. We will certainly pick up from the question, raised by the curatorial team commenting on this year's biennial: "Can the void created by past (political) failures serve as the soil for nurturing different relationships based on solidarity, friendship and intimacy?" IBA Stage: 35th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts February 13, 2024 (Tuesday) 2:00 pm (Ljubljana/GMT+1) We are absolutely delighted to announce that the IBA Stage on the 35th Ljubljana Biennale, first scheduled for December 2023, will take place next Tuesday, February 13th 2024. The Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts and this year's curatorial team were extremely helpful in trying to rearrange the presentation of "From the void came gifts of the cosmos" as the last edition was titled. The event was rescheduled as its previous date coincided with the global call by Fatah for strike in reaction to the ongoing war in Gaza.
