Meet our producer ELI McCARTHY!!!
Eli McCarthy is a queer Dublin-based theatre maker. He started his theatre journey with the Dublin Youth
Theatre in 2022, quickly garnering a love for the absurd and unusual through satire, horror, and comedy.
He has worked on sereval DYT shows including 'Animal Farm', 'The Wonderful world of Dissocia', and
'UBU'. He began directing in DYT's MOAF in 2023, going on to direct in the same festival of 2024 and
2025. He directed an extracted version of NYTs 'Like we were born to move' by Eimear Hussey for a Youth
Theatre Ireland & Cruinniú na nÓg project in Belfast summer of 2025.
Eli has been stage managing since 2024, going to various summer music festivals to SM with companies.
With an ITEC Diploma in Makeup Artistry, Eli frequently works character creation roles, be it straight hair
and makeup, special effects, or branching into costume.

Hello! I'm super excited to be bringing my own new bilingual work to stage in @sceneandheardfestivalofnewwork
HIBBERNIA 2.0 , it's set in a bizzare dystopian future floating city Ireland, and it follows Saoirse (@daswonsa ) navigating a world of diva TV stars, dodgy politicians and Gaeilgeoir robots!
We're also paired with @erinmcgathy 's An American in Ireland Two!
It'll be loads of fun so bígí ann!!!
