Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, Picasso, Weezer... the list goes on of artists who have moved through a blue period. And this was ours. Our second album, coming off the unexpected love our debut received, was a fathomless pool of deepest azure, beckoning us closer.. and all we had to do was dive in. We wanted everything about our follow-up to be bigger, brighter, wider, wordier - all of those things and more, but unselfconsciously so. So we called it Think Nothing. We wrote Blue in the biting winds of Belmullet and from the very first iteration, it was a wildling. We took it Tommy McLaughlin in Donegal to forge it and then to Ben Hillier in London to gild it and when we finally got it home, we gave it to Antoni Sendra to create a piece of film to accompany it out into the world. We'd seen Antoni's incredible paean to Joe Strummer, which somehow met the worlds of 2d and 3d and made them dance together on the screen.
