This album is the result of years of trying to figure out what the fuck my music is supposed to sound like. I write quite a lot of songs, and for the longest time I had absolutely no idea what to do with any of them other than sit in my room.
After comin out the other side of isolation and despair, I loosely strung together some things that connected these tracks, and with the aid of co-conspirator
@joshuawoolfmusic , I began to randomly pick ones I wanted to hear in 4K, and recorded them at his Hackney studio. I started many of these by myself as half-baked Ableton projects, and the final cut uses loads of audio tracks that were recorded in a totally throwaway manner. As long as I spent tinkering away at this, I never completely scrapped the initial imperfections, because they remind me of moments I would have otherwise forgotten.
These are songs of loss and recovery, of broken things and how to put them back together, of giving up All Hope and then finding it at your bedside, disappointed and indignant, begging you to just… try.
I wrote, sang and played every part, with the sole exception of a slide guitar track on ‘The Guillotine’ - by
@joshuawoolfmusic . He had to get something on here, especially considering how well he handles my concerning obsession with Mellotron keyboards.
Artwork design by me, photos by
@annie_bo0 . Additional thank you to
@insanedoorbell , whose encouragement, love and boundless artistic talent helped me to actually make this into something I wanted to release (and did some outright STUNNING artworks for 3 of the singles).
Sappy rant over. Put it on if you want! Back with more music later this year. Love yall. x
