Over the weekend Love on the Spectrum S3 picked up a golden tripod at the @austcine national awards. Thank you @ciantharwa for having me along for the ride and the whole @northernpictures LOTS family who made those 5 months spent in the US filming the show a once in a lifetime experience. For years now we’ve shot the show on Canon gear, so big thank you to @highzoltage , @canonanz and @canonanzpro for the ongoing support. And thank you to the ACS. I’ve been a member since 2016, so it’s been a decade of being part of this community that supports, educates, and pushes each other forward. It’s a special organisation and the door always feels open, so I look forward to being a part of things there for many years to come.

Filming @king_dylan_01 was one of my favourite things about working on Love on the Spectrum. He is an incredibly sweet guy and I’m so glad to see that people around the world have fallen in love with him and his delightful family. Dylan’s mum was so warm and generous and it’s lovely to finally see the moment she sent him out on his first date on screen. She talks so beautifully about how she wants Dylan to finally have some of the life experiences that so many others do and it captures everything that I think makes this show special. Also the date on the Santa Monica Pier was absolute chaos to shoot and I loved every second of it. Shoutout director @ciantharwa (or is it Sean?) and @geoff_thomas_acs for the fantastic work on S4. Also to @bluethefilm2017 @ayeemahh @nostraseanus @chloehendersontv @connorjaycolebrook @jamesdanspicer @justintran01 and the rest of the LOTS team who work so hard to make the show what it is 🌹

Wanted to focus on the crowd for this final collection of stills from Thom Yorke live at Sydney Opera House. The audience for these shows were really special and it was a privilege to be able to document the deep connection so many have with these songs. Everywhere you looked there were people hugging, crying or just lost in the music. Also, I knew Radiohead had resonated with a new generation but even so I wasn’t expecting to see so many young faces in the front row, singing along to every word. Shoutout again to the amazing camera team who brought so much skill and care to this project and to capturing these frames. Integrating the show visuals into the Thom Yorke concert film was a lot of fun. Initially we thought the show would be a lot more stripped back so when we discovered that the screens would play such a big role in the show it opened up a lot of possibilities. Thom’s Creative director @deadskinboy , Lighting Designer @pryderibaskerville , Video Director Ellie Clement and Video Technician @dan.english.lights_video created some incredible looks for the different tracks in the show, often tied to live on-stage video feeds. This meant the screen visuals reacted to Thom’s performance in real-time and were different every night. By capturing this screen content for the edit and extending the visuals beyond the stage, the hope is that the concert film can be both an extension of the live experience, and also be immersive in its own way. Thom Yorke live at Sydney Opera House When I was growing up my older sister had an eclectic taste in music and one day she brought home Thom Yorke’s The Eraser on CD, which I promptly “borrowed”. It absolutely knocked my socks off. It was my gateway into @radiohead and a whole new world of music, and is probably a big part of the reason I do the work I do today. Thanks @sarahrebeccamay , I owe you! Forever grateful to @stuartbuchanan and the @sydneyoperahouse team for wanting to collaborate on this project and to @thomyorke , @adeb1968 , Julie Calland, Simon Hodge and the rest of Thom’s team for the trust. Vanuatu has bit of a reputation for being a sunny place for shady people and a while back @thisisjamiecrawford and I went there to shoot part of the BBC’s new true crime series, The Great Art Fraud. We followed Victoria Baker-Harber, the wife of disgraced art dealer Inigo Philbrick, as she retraced their movements around the island on the days leading up to his arrest and deportation. Vanuatu threw us some real curve balls (and I discovered I’m pretty good at driving a 25 seater bus), but I loved working with Jamie. He directed the Woodstock 99’ doc for Netflix that I was a big fan of and he steered us through this brilliantly. Available on iView and BBC iPlayer
