I spent all of last week in southwestern France with Hossegor’s not-so local local @chasing_endlesssummer , making the most out of a quick surf-trip, aside from a brief fender-bender with a tractor.
This April I bought a 65’ Airstream with @mbebeniste . The 26ft trailer sat for decades until we took 23 hours by truck & boat to get it.
I quickly pulled out my super8 to film us attempt to move it that evening upon arrival. We were successful - we brought it home.
More to come this summer.
Now recovering my last few rolls of film over this winter from the bottom of my bag - I’m looking back on three months, three countries and some great pals in motion.
Explorin’, discoverin’, seeking out new zones & good times. Yew!
Along The Dirt Highway;
I took to experimenting with a new film format over the course of three months & 3 countries this most recent winter - Capturing three rolls of Kodak 16mm film on a coastal trip through Mexico, Nicaragua & El Salvador.
After expediting an untested Russian made Krasnogorsk-3 (k3 for short) to lug around for the winter, I discovered this 1970s dinosaur still had some life left.
Bus rides, boat trips and dirt bike trail rides later, the k3 provided footage taking you back to the early days of surf exploration, with the grain & all.
