Very grateful to release these 5 tracks on a label that I constantly draw tunes from, @hardcoreenergy . The Shellcode EP is the realisation of many dreamy atmospheric writing sessions, imagining vast landscapes and bizarre sci-fi imagery that I couldn’t draw because I can’t draw. Link in bio, obviously. Enjoy or something x
Oi! You! Grab ya blue-lensed wraparounds and look pensive – Constrict has blessed the label with the Shellcode EP. Trust us when we say this is PhD-level intelligent junglism.
How Do I Look opens with glitching ethereal pads and distant plucks, providing an airy backdrop for steppy breaks and a bouncing 808 bassline. Elevated by ambient vocal riffs, the second half unfolds into a collision of worlds – spacious horns drifting across an acidic 303 line. It’s a nod to that golden-age atmospheric blueprint, reimagined with new-age clarity and depth.
On C4$H BR4NDYCOOT, Constrict keeps the skies open. Dewy-fresh pads and elegantly arranged strings float above deep-grooving double basses and warm sines, while uplifting vocals bring a sense of optimism that feels distinctly 1994. There’s a trace of that Aquasky-era glow; it’s musical, fluid and effortlessly rolling.
Having taken us above the clouds, it was only a matter of time before blue skies turned stormy grey. Femtocell pivots into darker territory, blending tearout amens with dissonant vox and growling reese lines. While the mood tightens and tension builds, the breakwork remains precise and purposeful.
Shellcode stands as the EP’s centrepiece. A real standout track with pure steppage on the drums, warbling basslines weaving beneath surging pads and a proper stick-in-ya-head vocal melody. Deep, dark amen rinse-outs ground it firmly in the dance. If this one doesn’t move the crowd, check their pulses.
Closing the EP, Desert Cruising Gizmo feels like the perfect summation. Nostalgic yet forward-facing, its reversed vocal chops and beautifully placed melodic elements glide into tight breaks and heavier drums, carrying emotional weight without ever feeling cluttered.
The number of tunes I have ready to drop on y’all is in the double digits fr 😎 but it’s gunna be a minute til they’re out, so here’s some rare evidence I have a life
Yet another outrageously beautiful weekend at @weoutherefest - and an unexpected highlight hearing the undisputed don @neffa_t play my forthcoming track Owsley to a packed out Rhythm Corner. More details on this one and a bunch of other tunes soon x
Here is the first - and quite plausibly final - episode of my gritty sci-fi romcom series called ‘Make a Tune With Me’. The critics are calling it one of the shows of all time.
Something a little different (see also: a welcome opportunity to play some harmonica). I wrote this song after a particularly lovely weekend on a house boat. It is dedicated to my bloody amazing friends.
Finally decided to be brave and get this one out there, will be releasing on a new label under a new name soon. Normal programming will then resume with some rave music; change the channel at your peril. 📡

Here’s a bit more audio from my track ISO which is out now in all good digital stores. To those who were concerned, I have had a haircut since this was filmed.
Check the link in my bio to stream it or buy it or whatever you fancy really.
