This @worldoceanday we removed over 600 kg of plastic from the ocean floor of Smögen Marina, together with @rena_botten , @vastkuststiftelsen and @sotenaskommun ! And teamwork makes the dream work, because we sure made this marina much cleaner! 🌊🐠🤿 Here are some of the things we found: - 10 tires in varying sizes. - An old radio - Fishing nets - Lots and lots of cans - A cable - A few fish hiding in the cans, and lots of starfish ⭐️🐠 - A very old package of butter. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this possible. The impact we made today will last for many decades to come. 😊 #plasticpollutes #marineconservation #oceancleanup

One of our biggest cleanups ever! We spent our Sunday cleaning the ocean floor outside Smögenbryggan, together with @rena_botten and their awesome divers, and the fantastic help from @sotenaskommun ! It didn’t take long before we were hauling up huge tires and lost lobster cages from the ocean floor. Trash that had been polluting the ocean for many decades, now finally removed. In total, we removed 72 tires, 4 lobster cages, traffic cones, old cans, cables and a lot of other trash. Huge thanks to everyone involved, doing something like this is only possible by working together! 🙌🌊 #oceancleanup #savetheocean #beachcleanup #stopplasticpollution

When spending five days a week along the coastline, we come across all kinds of things. We’re collecting some of them here to show what you might find 🤭 Besides more common items like plastic bottles, single-use plastics, and debris from the fishing industry, we also find things like plastic toys, sand toys, and this time, even a navigation light and a toilet brush. Wonder how it ended up here?🫣 As you can see, it’s a real mixed bag of things. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve found in nature? #cleanup #coastal #specialfindings #plasticpollution

Some cleanups generate more ocean trash than others, and this one was a massive one! This photo was taken in a bay called Kungsviken. In total, 185 kilos of ocean waste were collected, filling 15 bags, so it was a great day of real impact! 🙌🏻 What is the trashiest place you’ve ever visited? Hopefully, it didn’t look like this afterwards! Also, have a lovely Friday everyone, and enjoy your weekend, whether on land or, hopefully, by our beautiful ocean 🌊🤗 #plasticpollution #beachcleanup #coastalcleanup #impact

Ramsvikslandet, a special place for us 🫶🏻 Our co-founder Lukas’s favorite location on the west coast, is also the birthplace of CleanSea. Ramsvikslandet is a nature reserve, with sweeping rock formations in beautiful and shimmering pink Bohuslän granite, that looks completely unique. During storms the waves from the open sea outside smash onto the cliffs, creating dramatic and stunning scenery. It’s also a location highly impacted by ocean plastic, because of the ocean currents 🌊 It’s the place we did our very first cleanup, and a very special location for CleanSea. One of hundreds of locations we are keeping clean through our cleanup efforts 🤗 #ramsvikslandet #cleansea #westcoast #oceancleanup #plasticpillution

A concrete impact with ocean vibes this summer! ☀️ 🌊 Our new T-shirts are live, each one pulling another kilo of plastic, fishing gear and other harmful trash straight from the ocean and coastline. And one of the best parts about the t-shirts are their material. We have chosen GOTS-certified cotton, which has one of the highest standards for sustainability on the market. Another plus is that it’s super soft and comfy, perfect for summer walks in nature or along the coastline🤗 So join the mission, pull another kg of ocean plastic, and wear your ocean impact this summer with your CleanSea summer t-shirt from the link in our profile! #makeanimpact #gotscertified #oceanvibes #plasticpollution #cleanup

Dolly ropes, one of the biggest types of waste we find washed ashore, and removing them is always a big win! 👏🏻 They easily get tangled, just imagine what it would look like if a seabird came near this chaotic mess… The good news? With a little effort, they can be removed, making our coast safer for wildlife and preserving our beautiful nature ☺️🌊 #cleansea #beachcleanup #coastal #plasticpollution

Today’s fantastic news is that CleanSea is getting close to reaching our goal of 100 bays, islands and beaches adopted by companies through the project 100 For The Ocean 🙌🏻🌊 We have been working hard with this project for three years, and right now 82 bays have been adopted by fantastic partner companies. Together we are removing tens of thousands of kilos of ocean trash from these locations yearly. A massive win for the West Coast and marine life 🤗 You will make a local, long-term difference while receiving photos from the cleanup results that can be used in your marketing, a report detailing the number of kilograms collected after each cleanup, and visibility on CleanSea’s website, where all 100 bays and participating companies are showcased. We’re aiming to get all 100 adopted, so if your company wants to help make a concrete difference for marine life, contact us at [email protected], and let’s see which stretch of coastline you can help keep clean all year round! ☺️ #100fortheocean #cleansea #impact #makeadifference

Wow, this is one of the most exposed places along Sweden’s coastline. We were definitely surprised when we arrived at Kungsviken and saw this… It was our first time visiting this place, and even though we thought it might be a place filled with ocean trash, it was still a bit of a shock to see it in real life. Trash was everywhere like a thick carpet (as you can see in the pictures) 😦 We couldn’t even see the ground through all the spread out trash. We cleaned about one fifth of it before we had to call it a day. 185 kilos and 15 bags, and that’s only one fifth. Thats so crazy! We have a lot of work to do before this place is safe for animals again, and we will be back soon 🙌🏻 Happy we found this bay so we can make sure it will be all clean again! 🤗 #kungsviken #cleansea #beachcleanup #oceantrash #pollutedbay
