Double Booking (2025)
Animated 3D models in augmented reality
Double Booking is a dystopian reflection on the necessity to clone oneself in order to keep up with the various responsibilities of life in a fast-paced world.
There are four avatars of me: one at university, never missing another class; one dancing, no longer canceling parties or social events; one with friends and family, no longer disappointing loved ones by running out of time; and one lying down, finally able to rest. Through augmented reality, these animated 3D scans can be placed into situations I would otherwise miss—an ironic promise of no more fomo, no more letdowns, and no more sleep deprivation.
The work was presented at Angewandte Festival 2025 as part of @dev_extended.virtuality .
My work “Laura, can we stop talking about my deepest fears now?” is currently on display in the exhibition “Refractive Perspectives” of the @artscience.ak department. Check out the whole exhibition at @ail_vienna until June 29. There are so many amazing works to see and experience!
