I met Patrick for the first time @cubbyholebar sometime this winter, in that strange period when the days are bleak and the weeks blend together.
It’s quite clear in my memory, though— the moment I watched him casually pull a cigar from his pocket, light it with a match, and place it to his lips in the cold outside the bar. I knew instantly that I wanted to know him further.
A storied world traveler, renowned community organizer and performer, and enthusiastic tequila connoisseur, Patrick’s presence is a pleasure, and I’m so glad to have met him during his time in New York.
Here’s to many more cigars in good company, wherever in the world we next meet.
