Big congrats to PD athlete @vg_md for sending his first 5.13 this past weekend! Warp Factor at Star Wall ⭐️
He started working with PD Coach, @_caseyelliott , 18 months ago, climbing in the 5.11 range.
Vadim has been one of our most consistent athletes. I kid you not, I think Vadim missed less than 5% of what we assigned him. He has been super engaged from day 1.
Casey and Vadim worked together for the entirety of the past 1.5 years on movement skills, strength, tactics, and endurance.
So cool watch it all come together on this area classic! 🤜🤛 Nice work you guys!
Emily has been paralyzed on the left half of her body since she was born from the development of calcium deposits in her brain (cerebral palsy). When she was born, her body had the form entirely new neural pathways for her to move anything on her left side. I’ve been told that her parents found out when she was a baby because she never crawled but instead rolled everywhere. That means that everything she can do with her left hand and foot she has had to fight for.
I am so proud of her journey in the past year from ignoring her disability to owning it. To get better at climbing, she had to allow herself to be vulnerable and work with what she had, rather than allowing the anger and frustration to take control. It’s been amazing to coach her and watch her journey to climbing 5.10 and beyond, learning to lead, and eventually putting herself out there at paraclimbing nationals and coming away with a spot on the USA team. This puzzle of training and movement coaching has been intriguing to me, and I hope that together we can keep finding out what else is possible.
I know you hate being inspiration porn as a disabled athlete but it’s tough when as an individual you are dedicated, motivated, strong, vulnerable, and overall - incredibly inspiring. ❤️
Rodellar 2023 🤩
It was a treat to have met the people I did on this trip. The local community with a riot, our Reno/US squad was perfect, and I connected with a new friend from good ol’ Boise Idaho. The older I get, the less I care about sending and the more I look for creating memories with good friends. Also psyched to share the @trangoclimbing@tenayaclimbing stoke with everyone on this trip. Draws up on everything #chupacintas #laRonda #figjamforever #baguetteproject #wheninspain #chess #tufitas
Couldn’t have sent it without the help of @trangoclimbing for those stylish purple draws and @tenayaclimbing for the fresh Mastias 🙃. One of my main goals on the Spain trip after coming off several months of injuries was to climb a few new 5.12s every day, which was such a fun goal in Rodellar. The other was to eat an entire baguette every day which wouldn’t have been possible without double knee bar rests such as these. Feeling so thankful in this moment for the healthy elbows and full bellies 🙏❤️
The final summit of the Evolution traverse, perfectly caught at sunset after 15 hours of climbing - a few minutes of serenity I won’t ever forget 🫢

The flow of life continues! Very psyched to get back into coaching and growing community with @projectdirect_coaching . It’s a joy to see the happiness and confidence that comes from self improvement, and I am stoked to be along for those rides. I recently got my certified personal trainer as well to aid in the journey of becoming a better coach and it (not surprisingly) opened up my eyes to many new movements and body awareness principles that I have already started to apply in my own life. I hope to get out more with people from the Reno community and please hit me up if you are coming through Tahoe to climb! I miss y’all!
