U of I, it’s been a hell of a 4 years🧡💙 “TO BE YOUNG, GIFTED, AND BLACK.” - Chadwick Boseman 🕊️✊🏾
This is a chapter of my life that feels bittersweet to close. U of I was never my first choice…but it was the best one I could’ve made, not to mention being a legacy and keeping I-L-L in the family🙂↕️ (shout out to the rents🫶🏽).
Whew it’s been quite the ride, soooo many lows and highs, a big part of that low being not knowing where I fit and what I wanted to do at UIUC for a while. Media and Cinema Studies had always been in the back of my mind as I love film and tv, media, production, and digital media. Dance is my passion, but I didn’t feel like I needed to have a degree in dance (more to say about that later😗). MACS combined all my interests in the creative & visual industry, and allows me to still pursue my true passion.
I’m forever grateful for these past 4 years and everything that being at U of I has taught me. Forever grateful for the people that I met and the friendships that I made🤞🏾. There are so many memories and moments I’ll never forget. I honestly don’t know what my life would look like if I had chosen a different path🥹🙂↕️.
To my family and support system, you guys know better than anyone what those downs in the ups and downs looked like. I could NOT have done this without you guys. I love you🥹🫶🏽.
Excited for this next chapter❤️
I-L-L💙🧡
