The O is a pilot project rethinking how natural resources and solar energy can support remote Pacific villages 🌊
After a global design competition and eight months of prototyping, The O will proceed to full-scale construction in Marou Village, Naviti Island, Fiji. ✨
The 40-meter timber-canopied structure sits at the intersection of art, architecture and infrastructure, and will generate 150 MWh of electricity and 1.2 million liters of filtered water annually, meeting the real energy and water needs of 67 households in Marou Village. ☀️
This solar and water microgrid is also public art, cultural space, and a community-owned vision for a vibrant and resilient future. 🌱
Expected to be built in 2027, The O is born from the vision of the Land Art Generator initiative (LAGI) -@lagi_poweredbyart - to create sustainable solutions that are as beautiful as they are functional and meaningful for their communities.

Great news! 🌱 Our proposal for the a new Arts & Performance center in the heart of Burgas got the 3rd Prize and was selected from a pool of 145 international entries!
The design focuses on transforming a currently abandoned site into a multi-level landscape featuring both indoor and outdoor performance spaces. Instead of creating a traditional icon, the project proposes a structure that gently occupies the underground, prioritizing the preservation of nature and the expansion of the public park.

🍀 "Decoding the void: anatomy of urban residualities in New Belgrade' Block 61,62 & 63" is a design research that analyses the neglected public spaces of sovietic blocks of New Belgrade and proposes a future direction for its development based on green infrastructure.
The research is part of "Understanding City Growth" directed by @bina.centar and was presented last May during the exhibition opening together with the other invited architects @continentale.ch

Our proposal for the regeneration of Østmarka focuses on a three-phase approach in which the landscape acts as a driver of change.
From phase 1 we introduce the notion of therapeutical walks, by making the nowaday unaccessible nature accessible to all, opening up views on the amazing fjord, and reintroducing local species.
In phase 2 and 3 the "walks" will be extended and integrated with new activities to support the patients of the new nursing home and the future community of Østmarka. 🍀

The Upcycling Hub proposes a space to support reuse, repair and share of resources at local scale. The classic warehouse is rethought into an open building with small workshops, self repair labs, communities room and a central marketplace of unique upcycled materials.

Last october we designed "Like a rolling stone!", a little observatory to support the ongoing regeneration of Bormida Valley in north of Italy.
The little device is located in nine villages across the valley offering nine observatory points on the landscapes and a micro-museum on the history and the ecology of local territory.
Instead of a static design, the object has been shaped in a way it can lean on its different sides and offer specific configurations and experiences across the nine villages.
