I distinctly remember going to Graylands one random rainy day to just look at the double set. I was with a few friends who kindly accompanied me (and assisted as a lookout whilst cutting the lock). Prior to going, I already had the laser flip in my head and knew it would be something within reach. I gave it a few red hot shots, managing to land an atrocious one, knowing full well I would be back. ~ A few months pass and @jakerotham informed a few heads that @slamskateboarding would be doing an article on Perth in their upcoming edition. This news, at least for me was perfect timing. ~ I remember getting there at 9:45am with a friend, anxious and nervous. Soon after everybody arrived it was game on. As any skateboarder knows when skating stuff you’re a little on edge about, you get this window of PEAK opportunity. Once you get out of that window, it’s tremendously hard to find your place in it again. After slamming for a good 40 something attempts, I knew it was fading rapidly. ~ The two attempts before I landed the trick, I had just left the window.. and I knew it. The next go I somehow rolled away with one trick I’m most proud of to date. To be honest, I don’t even remember the time between when I popped and when I landed.
