Winning the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Drama Series is a moment that fills us with deep gratitude. We don’t do this for awards—but let’s be real, if we are going to win one, an honor from an organization that has fiercely protected, celebrated, and advanced Black excellence for over a century? Yeah, that one hits different. Sharing the stage with Aldis, Sam, Jim, Isaiah, Craig, Stacie, and Nzingha was a beautiful reminder that storytelling isn’t a solo act. It’s a movement. Cross is a labor of love—built by an incredible team of writers, directors, cast, and crew who poured their talent, time, and souls into this work. This award reflects them all.  At @bluemondayprod , we believe that sharing our stories authentically and specifically isn’t just good for business—it’s good for humanity. The complexity of the Black experience deserves depth, nuance, and the spotlight. Last night, that belief was recognized, and we couldn’t be prouder. And to our partners at Amazon/MGM Studios, CBS Studios, Skydance, and James Patterson Entertainment—thank you for sharing that belief. Much love and respect to our fellow nominees. My wife encouraged to me make a short film before we left, “something to take back with us from Hollywood.” That short film ended up being “Quest to Ref,” and it won the @americanblackfilmfestival Grand Prize. #DoTheWriteThing

When I was six years old, I begged my mom to wait outside Muhammad Ali’s house in Chicago. We sat out front all day, just hoping to see his car pull out of the driveway. Now, all these years later, I’ve been trusted by the Ali estate and Lonnie Ali to direct several episodes of The Greatest — the first authorized scripted series about his life. It feels surreal, and I don’t take the responsibility lightly.
