Human connection to the ocean is something I have always been interested in. Likely because water/ocean/sea has been such a big theme in my own life.
So here’s a little collection of ocean wisdoms by my fish friends:
• @_bblest_ in Dominica in 2023
• @modoloalice in Greece in 2024
• @padjenp in Dominica in 2025

Unfortunately this is the reality of our single-use plastic habits. In 1,5 hours of snorkeling we encountered about double as much plastic as I captured in these photos. This plastic would’ve ended up inside of a turtle, bird, fish or any other animal.
And how about the irony of the ‘biodegradable’ plastic bag we saw floating around? With a big ol’ ‘thank you’ across. These biodegradable plastics will maybe decompose faster than normal plastics, but will still take months to years to fully decompose. Which means it’s absolutely useless if it ends up in the ocean, looking exactly like a tasty jelly turtle snack.
A lot of countries have already cut out free plastic bags at stores, which is awesome, but I’ve been shocked multiple occasions the last months by the amount of plastic bags used in some places.
Please think about this next time you go to a grocery store. Take a bag with you. Don’t use 10 different plastic bags for your fruits and veggies. And if you end up using a plastic bag because there’s no other way, please don’t throw it in the ocean.
Thank you for reading. 💙

It’s a real skill to pretend-rope-walk vertically on an anchor line. ⚓️
