New EP’s out VORTEX 🌀

Next is “Black Kite”, which works a razor-edge chord ride to a hardgroove pulse — exact and
uninhibited, and seamlessly ready to build momentum. @_asstnt
With “Steppenwolf” @_asstnt employs a new language for me; broken drums and percussion, an
amen break that is distorted, extremely warped in tempo (distorted again) a piano and eerie
coursing / drenched in some large echo; features a distant voice that registers like a broadcast
signal transported from another time, while being remorselessly militaristic - yet oddly not cold.
“Unexpected Deal” blends warehouse intensity with rolling, swung percussion. A looped vocal
works as a hypnotic layer, turning the track into a kind of trance-state groove — stripped-down but
not minimal. @_asstnt
“Shooters” hits significantly harder, faster; a brutal high-tempo cut - _asstnt commits to a boundary
pushing distortion and an aggression not entirely contained (a tonic is a real thing - we just had a
lot of bourbon and vodka and we had to…) - to a once surface level track that hits lightly (and like a
slap) and resets the set. @_asstnt
In “Vortex” the opening track, @_asstnt sets the tone with a spiraling synth, a hypnotic lead that
builds intensity with no real payoff — it’s warehouse music to its logical extreme; tense, repetitive,
intoxicating, surroundings full of unrelated products or every imaginable / desired thing.

What a year it’s been! I had to deal with an injury that kept me away from the gym for a while, but after surgery, I’m feeling stronger and ready to get back at it. 💪
