ARRCC has transformed a home on Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard, at the base of Lion’s Head, while retaining its original footprint. The design introduces an open-plan layout that seamlessly integrates the interior with garden terraces and panoramic ocean views. A distinctive, undulating concrete roof floats above the main living area, framing views of Table Mountain and Lion’s Head through clerestory windows. Key features include an open-plan upper level with floor-to-ceiling glass doors connecting the lounge and dining areas to the terrace, a “pavilion-like” transparency that maximizes light, and perforated metal screens that diffuse sunlight. Set within a precise palette of stainless steel, timber, and terrazzo, their graphic form balances refinement with an industrial edge. Overhead, a lattice ceiling establishes a strong visual rhythm, while integrated greenery softens the composition, creating a dialogue between structure, material, and life. Island Villa, Dubai, UAE On Dubai’s Jumeirah Bay Island, Island Villa explores a more restrained approach to waterfront living, where architecture, interiors, landscape, and climate response are conceived as a single spatial experience. “It shifts the focus from opulence to quality, comfort and an intentional way of living,” says SAOTA Principal Philip Olmesdahl. Trevor Delport, ARRCC’s in-house fabric specialist, introduces the studio’s newly renovated Materials Library. Conceived as a working environment for research and material exploration, the space allows the Interior Decor team to review textures, finishes, and fabrics in detail. This process ensures every material palette is thoughtfully considered and developed before becoming part of a project.

Soulever, Dubai, UAE​ The library is shaped through a series of defined architectural moments. A central stone column anchors the space, with shelving wrapping around it to create both structure and flow. Timber joinery and integrated lighting introduce warmth, while the curved ceiling softens the geometry above. Full-height glazing draws light deep into the room, casting shifting shadows across the floor and reinforcing a quiet, contemplative atmosphere.
