thank you to the judges, organisers and commentators! this was such a fun ball to watch and experienceš
there arenāt perfect rounds and itās a long road ahead for where i want to be with new way, but also am taking a moment to be proud of where weāre at a year into this.
to everyone who supported me behind the scenes whether it was through helping with effects, feedback or hugs, i am very grateful. you made the experience. š«¶š¼š
the first time i tried new way was in a xyza class (second vid) in january 2025, got my first tens and gp ever from sattva (whoās movement iād loved before i even knew what new way was) that May, and now iām in vancouver and trying to keep this account updated LOLLLL. the road to where i think i want to be is long but i just want to take a moment to remember where i was a year ago. for the memories or whatever. š
shoutouts to my sister @my_tears_are_archaic for training / training with me. continue to play and innovate while we all watch in awe. iām proud of us for figuring out the crazy stuff we can do and hopefully we stay uninjured š. and of course, much love to the scene back home for getting me started, especially to @suenami______ and @urbanpige0n for pushing me to try. š«¶š¼š«¶š¼š«¶š¼ happy new year.
fun fact this was where i paid for my first piece of clothing. $18 when i was like⦠10? i wanna say. stretchy teal paisley thing and that was my start to hippiedom. live laugh love.
i think itās really interesting that we call kids brave when they donāt really know what it means. itās like the little brave moments matter more to adults who know fear and loss. kids donāt know, they just do. i think thatās pretty cool.
i think thereās a part of us that loses some of that raw bravery as we age. i hope that one day, the kids we call brave today will remember it when theyāre a little older and think back to when they were brave too. i hope it encourages them when theyāre old enough to know what bravery means to them.
