GRAZIA MALAYSIA - LOVE ISSUE. My first modelling gig! My young self would not believe this…I feared being in front of a camera. From a young age and even now I struggle with body image and weight. Shame, insecurity, fitness and mental health has become my everyday struggle/management. BUT I grow confident each day, it helps when I have friends who give me space to be my weird self. Special shout out to @mikeeenguyen for being so supportive when you can clock me getting anxious ahah and to new friends I met that day and to friends who continuously cheer me on ❤️ Thank you to everyone who worked on this shoot, I know it’s a huge project and it looks incredible thank you for making us feel supported. I got signed to @alt___cast that morning of the shoot 🤯Afterwards, I felt empowered and more in my skin. Happy Birthday, 31 today. 🎉 Young AJ wouldn’t believe it if I told him how far we’ve come and how tenacious and strong I’ve been for us. I’m always in awe of sunsets, celebrating with food, enjoying connection and warm hugs, doubling the laughter, revelling in music and creative expression … all so fleeting, transitional, impermanent. But every bit of this journey I’m realising how much fun it’s been discovering versions of myself; versions in which I’ve come to love and let go. 🍃

In addition to my film/tv work, I use this time to experiment, to test materials, and try new things to learn. More importantly I want to give back to my community in a way that I know how. ¿Qué tal? been busy… Styling assisting, working on indie film projects, making new friends, gym, little set design for editorials, decoration/set-up for Int’l Non-Binary Day, enjoying sunrises and sunsets, decorating the Toff for Nocturna Vogue Night, busy art directing and designing.

Stills of some of the sets I dressed on HIGH COUNTRY S1, including some before and afters. It had its challenges but I had fun dressing and decorating these locations. Hopefully I managed to help translate the characters and emotions from the script visually onto the sets and assist the production designer with the story telling. Because I finally had an opportunity to dress, I went all out and painted some art for background dressing, I customised some lampshades. Lol. I also enjoyed cooking some food all within farm to table concept for the farm and set the table for that scene. I made a lot of new friends too and grateful for them, their help, and their skills. Ultimately I learned a lot and I’m keen to keep learning. High Country is streaming on Binge.
