Post in honor of our lunch at Les Enfants du Marché in the Marché des Enfants Rouges, a covered food market around the corner from the hotel. Delicious grilled octopus (with some of the best zucchini I have ever had), white fish & potato croquettes (yummy romesco), tempura sardines - squid ink coloring the batter and aioli so they were pretty crazy looking - and a yummy sirloin steak with beets, yummy sauce, mmm, potato chips. Thanks lunch
Hannah on the roof of the Galeries Layfayette, a huge and ostentatious department store in a beautiful building (next picture is the ceiling). Then, some photos from the Palais Garnier, the opera, and a couple photos from things in the surrounding neighborhood. And if you make it all the way to the end, there’s a picture of me on the same roof as the one that Hannah is the roof on the Hannah is standing on the roof I am standing on she is on at the beginning.
Nicest croissant I’ve had so far here, and some other pictures, the two in the dark are from a sweet cozy little bar called Little Red Door.
Regarding croissants, it’s nice that here there are bakeries in every neighborhood making decent ones fresh every morning. We don’t have that in Portland. However, the highs in Portland croissant-land absolutely meet (if not exceed) the highs of the Paris croissant. Either way I love a croissant… mmm mmm yum. The baguettes are way better here though. #baguette
